Nikon D3400

Nikon D3400 is an entry-level DSLR camera and has been described as an ideal camera to enter the wonderful world of DSLR photography. What makes it such a good entry-level camera, and can it step up to more demanding tasks?

Easy To Use

One of the big reasons why the Nikon D3400 is highly regarded as an entry level DSLR camera is its simplicity. It is very easy to use, giving the photographer every opportunity to concentrate on framing a shot, or capturing a random moment, without having to worry about setting it up.

A Camera To Grow With

Photography skills develop over time, and the D3400 has enough features and settings to keep pace with a photographer's growing demands and technical skill. In other words, it goes beyond its entry-level status and won't need to be replaced in a hurry. It's an ideal camera to grow with.

Great For Junior

As an entry-level camera of some renown, the Nikon D3400 is a good option for younger photographers. Not only is it easy to use, but it is lightweight, making it easy for children to carry around with them for a long period of time. It is compact as well, a great feature for smaller hands.

The Numbers

The D3400 offers 24.2-megapixels, and a 3-inch screen with 170 degrees viewing angle. Full HD 1080p video promises good quality footage.

Keep On Snapping

Charge it up, then get snapping, and snapping, and snapping! The Nikon D3400 has a reputation for huge battery life, a great asset when you're capturing the beauty of nature miles away from the nearest power source.

Very good camera for the beginner like me!

I have never owned this type of camera before. So this review is based on a first time unexperienced user. I can tell you that I love this camera. It is my favorite camera. I have owned 3 crop censored cameras before and they were all Nikons. The D3400 blows all of them away.

Very Pleased with product

Extremely pleased with the performance of our new camera. We had a great experience with the sales/service rep at the Nikon counter ( Gerry ), he sorted out a problem with our older Nikon, that our camera specialist in LA was unable to resolve for years.

Nice deal.

Nice kit. The flash I got didnt work but thats not a issue for me. The camera and lens kits are very nice and the add on filters and lenses are fairly good quality. The battery and extra charger are a nice addition. Shipping was very fast and well packed.

NIKON D3400 DSLR Camera with DX 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 VR Lens

Got due to its cheapness for being a pro like camera, for pros or beginners, quality and software is real good, its a Nikon! Cant fault anything regarding the build; best part is the snap bridge feature, the higher models support WiFi, that has to be annoyingly switched over in settings, Bluetooth...

Wouldn't say it was a beginner camera; I found it quite hard to understand; even with the on-board manual and in auto; everything really needs to be set up different; being a beginner this doesn't help much; had to get a pro to set up for me; just to get started; me; personally would of been better...

Great value for money

Great camera, light, compact, great quality of photos. Battery life is unexpectedly insane, up to 2-3 day's without charging. SnapBridge works totally fine with Bluetooth. Overal, great value for money!

Nikon D3400 review: the best entry-level DSLR money can buy

The D3400 was a little pricey at launch, but now its price has fallen it's a superb starting point for anyone new to DSLRs. It's easy to use, has excellent image quality and of course it's compatible with an enormous number of high quality lenses.

Light weight and compact; Great photos

No mic socket; Screen isn't a touchscreen

Great camera, lightweight, many features.

Great camera, lightweight, many features. I upgraded from a D5000 and the only complaint about this camera is that it doesn't have a rotating view screen. That was helpful for taking selfies. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the camera.
