Can I have two?
I got this camera for Christmas and I am loving it. In the specs it lists the battery being able to take up to 550 photos, but I got over $900 and with 2 bars remaining. It is great having the extra lens because the 55mm sometimes just doesn't make it. And to put it all together it is simple to use.

FITS THE PURPOSE AND THEN SOME
Never had a better camera. Within a reasonable price range, without going into the 'really expensive' cameras. Easy to use, after some practice you're taking shots like a pro. Would highly suggest for anyone that wants to step away from a traditional point-and-shoot camera.
Pros:
- price
- ease of use.
Cons:
- none

D3100 Review
Nikon D3100 Review Nikon fixes the broken D3000, mostly Add a comment or send Thom feedback on this article. I'm going to try to keep this short, as there isn't a lot to talk about beyond what I've already written about low-end Nikon DSLRs.
Pros:
- Wide isn't wide . Nikon hasn't really produced a true wide angle that's small enough to complement this camera, Video is wobbly. Rolling shutter problems are about as bad as I've seen in a DSLR. Talking head videos are okay
- roller blade action, not so much, Complicated for a beginner's camera .

@Rahul Das
Zooming? we are talking about a DSLR here, not a tiny sensor P&S camera. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't make such stupid, joke of the 21st century comments. DSLR doesn't deal in Number X zoom, it uses the term focal length to specify its reach, the 18-55mm lens that comes with a...

I was looking to upgrade from my previous non SLR digital camera. I had used a film SLR for many years and even this "entry level" camera had so much more in features than my film camera.
Pros:
- Easy To Use
- Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus
- Fast Shutter Speed
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- High ISO Performance
- Large Clear LCD
Cons:
- None

Impressive
I am totally new to photography and just thought I would give it a go. I wanted something that was good value for money, good picture quality and high quality video - all of these criteria were fulfilled by the d3100. The best part in my opinion is the ease of use.

My excellent first dslr
it is the best camera for the money its cost. surely there are better cameras, but being my first dslr, i think it is the best option. maybe be necesary purchase an extra lens, the 18-55 kit is good but a little limited.

Great camera if you don't know anything about photography or DSLR'S
For being a complete noob to photography, the D3100 was a great start. I wasn't so into all the cool little things and the spec stuff, i just needed something easy to use. Picture quality is pretty good, 1080p video is nice, along with the 14 mega pixels.

Pros:
- Looks BRAND new Amazing image quality Very light camera Battery life is excellent Manual Control of ISO
- f-stop
- shutter speed Brilliant shooting modes Photo editing software built in
Cons:
- None so far
