Wow
This is my first complex camera and I'm a bit intimidated, but Nikon supplies so much help if you are unsure of all the photography aspects such as 2 dvds (included) a manual and help on the web. I'm amazed at all this camera can do! I've already taken some amazing pictures.

Mediocre, for a Nikon.
A few more things: -I shoot a lot of concerts, and this is just NOT FAST ENOUGH, even in Manual. -The shutter release is fast, but to change settings you have to wade through dozens of awful menus. -You're better off buying a D40.
Pros:
- It's still a Nikon, so the pictures are top-quality, and the 18-55 kit lens is really a great lens
- It has a big screen
Cons:
- It is the worst SLR that Nikon has made
- The button layout is sub-par
- The low-light performance is fairly bad, much worse than my 5-year-old D2h, which is known for its issues in low light.

"The Nikon D3000 is excellent!"
I had this bought for Chistmas my first SLR. The Nikon D3000 camera is easy to use, lots of good settings, like the night mode is perfect for fireworks, and the sports setting is perfect for fast sports, so long as you have the camera still.

Fantastic bargain
I seriously think this camera is the best camera for my personal use. It has all of the features that I want, and it's priced very competitively. Image quality at higher ISOs is literally the only fault I can find, but I don't do action or sports photography or anything else that frequently requires...

This camera gives my pictures a professional touch, even though I have no idea how to take a good picture. Just what I needed when taking pictures of my kids.

Easy to use, even forbeginners
I had been on the market for a DLSR since fall of 2009. I've always owned Nikon point and shoots so when I started reading reviews of DSLR's I obviously leaned towards Nikon. Living rural, I was unable to to run out and handle any cameras right away.

This is an amazing price for a DSLR camera! Sure, at this price it's not going to satisfy any pros, but for the average Joe who wants great shots and more customization than you can achieve with a point and shoot (aperture/iso/etc), it's perfect!

Awesome.
The time I had this camera, I absolutely loved it. It was a great starter camera for me, especially with the price. I bought it here on ebay and got a great deal. The camera itself took amazing photos. I found out much about the camera before hand so I could get right to work when I had it.

Amazing!
i honestly LOVE my new camera as a beginning photographer i found this product amazing. i love to practice on my daughter and i love how it Captures moment i would lose with any other camera. its clear and easy to use SOOOO many features personaly i do not regret buying this camera.
