The Nikon D3000 represents Nikon's attempt to put a DLSR into the hands of people who would normally feel out of their depth with that kind of high-end camera.

Fantastic bargain

I seriously think this camera is the best camera for my personal use. It has all of the features that I want, and it's priced very competitively. Image quality at higher ISOs is literally the only fault I can find, but I don't do action or sports photography or anything else that frequently requires...
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus
  • Fast Shutter Speed
  • Good Image Quality
  • Good Image Stabilization
  • Large Clear LCD
  • Quiet
Cons:
  • Noisy At High ISO

" Good for beginners! "

This camera gives my pictures a professional touch, even though I have no idea how to take a good picture. Just what I needed when taking pictures of my kids.

Nikon has been raising the bar on their entry-level DSLRs. While the D3000 is intended to be their most affordable model, it is using a variation of the 10MP sensor and the same AF module on the D200, which was a $1699 prosumer model that was in very high demand merely a few years ago back in 2006.

Easy to use, even forbeginners

I had been on the market for a DLSR since fall of 2009. I've always owned Nikon point and shoots so when I started reading reviews of DSLR's I obviously leaned towards Nikon. Living rural, I was unable to to run out and handle any cameras right away.

This was my first DSLR camera and even for that I was quite disappointed. Especially for indoor photography without flash it was horrible. If you just want to play around with the different settings the user friendly mode can help you with some understanding if you do not want to read the theory...

This is an amazing price for a DSLR camera! Sure, at this price it's not going to satisfy any pros, but for the average Joe who wants great shots and more customization than you can achieve with a point and shoot (aperture/iso/etc), it's perfect!

Easy to use, with great pictures.

Takes great pictures, with a 8 GB SD card I can take over a thousand pctures. Gives you the option of of all settings or you can do point and shoot. With both setting, for the first time shooter is very easy and for an experienced shooter all settings are easy to find and set.
Pros:
  • Has a good feeling while your holding it to take pictures
  • all controls are easy to see and get to
Cons:
  • Haven't found any yet

Joy Short-lived

This camera served me well for two years. It was easy to use and offered enough features for my needs. However, after about a year and a half, it died. Even when the battery was newly charged, the camera would turn on briefly and then die.

Awesome.

The time I had this camera, I absolutely loved it. It was a great starter camera for me, especially with the price. I bought it here on ebay and got a great deal. The camera itself took amazing photos. I found out much about the camera before hand so I could get right to work when I had it.
