Reviews: Nikon D3000: Review
Beautiful photos have never been so easy with the Nikon D3000 Digital SLR. Imagine all the high-tech wizardry of the more expensive cameras without all the confusing menus and manuals. Imagine the D3000, a camera that combines Nikon technology with simplicity never before found in digital SLR.

Nikon D3000 DSLR camera
With digital SLRs well within the realm of mass-market affordability, what's to stop every family from owning one? Financial penury aside, a perceived uphill learning curve perhaps, and that's where Nikon's latest 10-megapixel entry-level model, the D3000, updating the D60, comes in.
Pros:
- Small
- lightweight yet sturdy construction
- reliable results and responsive in operation
- intuitive to use with or without Intelligent Guide deployed
Cons:
- No Live View option
- no movies of any description
- no built-in anti-shake

Nikon D3000 review
If you're an enthusiast photographer and want to learn more about how to take photos in different situations, there is probably no better camera to get your hands on than Nikon's D3000.
Pros:
- In-built guides
- easy to use
- useful 3D tracking focus
Cons:
- Has minimal buttons and only one control dial
- noisy images from ISO 400 and above
- can only autofocus with AF-S lenses

Moved up to a D3000 from a Panasonic FZ-28 Lumix bridge camera, and I was not disappointed. The lack of live view is hard to compensate for if, like me, you're used to snapping photos from the LCD rather than the viewfinder, but the crystal clear image offered through the finder on this SLR is more...
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- good sturdy build
- guide mode is useful
Cons:
- No live view
