Nikon D3000 v Samsung NX10
Both the Nikon and the Samsung represent great buys for anyone who wants to get a capable camera outfit for under £500. In terms of handling and range of features, both options are excellent.

[REVIEW-NIKON D3000 DSLR]
This 10.2 megapixel camera is Nikon's new entry model, supplied with an 18–55mm (27–82 film equivalent) lens with vibration reduction. Sensor dust reduction is by sensor vibration. The medium resolution 75mm LCD doubles as the camera status screen.
Pros:
- The images from the camera are consistently well exposed
- Colour is generally good, except under incandescent light where auto white balance fails
- Ergonomics are excellent and the noises – shutter and mirror slap – are amazingly refined
- It does not feel cheap
Cons:
- Nikon pinch the pennies on their low end models – no auto bracketing
- a limited range of auto-focus lenses (there is no focus drive in the body)
- poor LCD resolution and no live view.

Nikon D3000 Review
For a great price like $600, the Nikon D3000 is an excellent value, especially if you are ready to move into more advanced photographic waters. Once you start acquiring the lenses, a few years down the road you can replace the body and still have the glass.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- Auto modes for beginner
- Good in low light
Cons:
- Sluggish image buffer
- No live view
- No video recording

Nikon D3000 DSLR camera
With digital SLRs well within the realm of mass-market affordability, what's to stop every family from owning one? Financial penury aside, a perceived uphill learning curve perhaps, and that's where Nikon's latest 10-megapixel entry-level model, the D3000, updating the D60, comes in.
Pros:
- Small
- lightweight yet sturdy construction
- reliable results and responsive in operation
- intuitive to use with or without Intelligent Guide deployed
Cons:
- No Live View option
- no movies of any description
- no built-in anti-shake

Nikon D3000 review
If you're an enthusiast photographer and want to learn more about how to take photos in different situations, there is probably no better camera to get your hands on than Nikon's D3000.
Pros:
- In-built guides
- easy to use
- useful 3D tracking focus
Cons:
- Has minimal buttons and only one control dial
- noisy images from ISO 400 and above
- can only autofocus with AF-S lenses

Moved up to a D3000 from a Panasonic FZ-28 Lumix bridge camera, and I was not disappointed. The lack of live view is hard to compensate for if, like me, you're used to snapping photos from the LCD rather than the viewfinder, but the crystal clear image offered through the finder on this SLR is more...
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- good sturdy build
- guide mode is useful
Cons:
- No live view

Great buy!
I originally brought this camara for photo's of my son and his teammate's on game day. I really like the quality of the photo's and all the ability's this camara has so I'm pleased and feel that this was money well spent.
Pros:
- Easy To Use
- Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- Large Clear LCD
Cons:
- Poor In Low Light

Mediocre, for a Nikon.
A few more things: -I shoot a lot of concerts, and this is just NOT FAST ENOUGH, even in Manual. -The shutter release is fast, but to change settings you have to wade through dozens of awful menus. -You're better off buying a D40.
Pros:
- It's still a Nikon, so the pictures are top-quality, and the 18-55 kit lens is really a great lens
- It has a big screen
Cons:
- It is the worst SLR that Nikon has made
- The button layout is sub-par
- The low-light performance is fairly bad, much worse than my 5-year-old D2h, which is known for its issues in low light.
