Hey if you want to lug around $3,000plus of camera gear, spend time changing lenses, miss photo opportunities, have effective wide angle to zoom 20mm to 200mm you should buy a full SLR,(probably a Nikon)If you want a point and shoot, pocket size with poor low light, and effective wide to zoom around

Nikon Coolpix P510 Digital Camera

This camera is the best base camera for its price. It has some image stabilization problem, but still manageable. It has got a good battery life and comes with rechargeable battery, charger, and pouch and memory card. I found this is best camera in this range with this much good quality.

Really a nice camera for the money.

Have a Canon G9, not CMOS but it's way to &quot;buttony&quot;....produces fair files for a CCD chip.<br />Picked up this refurbished P510 for a great price. Love the CMOS chip, awesome lens zoom and operation is so much simpler than the Canon.
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Fast/accurate auto-focus
  • Good Image Quality
  • Good Image Stabilization
  • Good in Low Light
  • Great Zoom
  • Large Clear LCD
  • Nice Body Color
  • Short Lag Time
  • Small / Compact
Cons:
  • Haven't Really Found Any

Great price, great product

- Great package for serious zooming, i can zip up my coat and it doesn<t even bulge. Sick of carrying around dslr and 3 lenses - this is the answer and then some. This whole camera is 100 cheaper than my cheap canon 70-300mm, but the image quality is better on the nikon i think...
Pros:
  • - For 189
  • like new
  • can't complain
  • looks new
  • - 180 day Nikon Canada Warranty card in the box (doubled with my amex) - Does everything i want pretty much - Has more features than my Canon T2i - Although this can be used as a point and shoot
  • don<t fool yourself.
Cons:
  • Some reviews mention apertrue range is limited to f8, and max apert
  • is 3 - 5 vs 2.8 all the way on pana
  • At full price, I would have to carefully compare the 2, but at this price, there is no need, altough obviously long depth of field will be challenging in some situations, but

Overall a good camera

I am Pleased with the Coolpix P510 camera. It is relatively easy to use with excellent individual settings. The resultant photos are good and the sports feature excellent for moving targets. The only down side of the camera is the GPS, which works very intermittently.

A friend of mine has this camera and I love the many features

A friend of mine has this camera and I love the many features. It is a perfect camera for my daughter and her boyfriend who are just starting out with taking pictures of their vacations but have expressed an interest in more than basic photography. Super excited to give it to them for Christmas!
