Nikon Coolpix P510
It can also record your route even if you don't shoot any photos, but you can't map it until you get back to your computer, Imaging-Resource.com points out. Panorama lets you sweep the camera across the scene (you can choose 180 or 360 degrees) to create an automatic panoramic shot; it works well in...

Great to take along on vacation because of the great zoom range and portability. To obtain similar results in wildlife photos you would need a DSLR with large and expensive lenses.
Pros:

- Manual settings also
- Sharp and clear photos
Cons:
- A little bulky but light

Impressive.
Fantastic! Easy to use and oodles of functions. The 42x optical zoom gives such definition and clarity even in low light environments, and amazing action shots. The HD recording function creates excellent quality movies with good sound quality, and I'll never get bored of the Smile timer setting!

Nikon P-510, well rounded Super-Zoom
You can find many good reviews about this camera on the internet, not to repeat all the good things already said. I just want to mention one feature I found very interesting, that is the 3D still photo function that really works!

Nikon Coolpix P510
Nikon's been a little late to the party with its line of superzoom cameras over the last couple of years. But its latest, the Coolpix P510, crams in a huge 24-1000mm (equivalent) lens - making it the longest zoom compact on the market. That'll be enough to grab our attention, then.
Pros:
- Small body
- huge zoom range
- vibration reduction image stabilisation technology
- extra value in features such as GPS
Cons:
- Electronic viewfinder outclassed by Fujifilm HS30EXR's
- tricky to shoot at 1000mm (equivalent) with great success
- image quality is okay at best
- autofocus at longer focal lengths is a little slow
- Auto White Balance inconsistencies

Very short acquaintance with this unit, however it seems to function well. Professional reviews dissing the utility of the long lens/autofocus may be on the mark, but in the world of reality, using a 1000mm lens (equivalent) will require a tripod regardless of what camera you're using, and I went...
