Nikon Coolpix P510
I'm still not sure whether there's a good reason to have a 42x zoom lens on a compact camera. But regardless, the Nikon Coopix P510 is overall a very good full-sized superzoom, even if you never use the full zoom range. And, actually, it's probably better if you don't.
Pros:
- A fun camera to shoot with
- Overflowing with photo and movie features
- Backed by very fast shooting performance and excellent low-ISO photo quality
Cons:
- Has trouble focusing at the telephoto end
- Its low-light/high-ISO photo quality has room for improvement

Nikon Coolpix P510 REVIEW: Its 42x Zoom is a Sight to Behold
When I first started playing with the Master of the Mighty Zoom, I was very impressed. There were little things here and there that were improved over last year's Coolpix P500. I loved most of the shooting features and effects, as well as the Coolpix P510's extensive external design.

Nikon Coolpix P510 Digital Camera Review
Superzooms are popular for plenty of good reasons, but the main attraction is always the huge zoom range. The Nikon Coolpix P510 certainly has that part covered. Its massive 42x, 24-1000mm equivalent lens has the longest reach of any camera out there by a long shot.
Pros:
- Enormous
- class-leading 42x zoom range
- Strong all-around image quality
Cons:
- Build quality feels a bit cheap
- Not as much control as other superzooms

Nikon's P510 sure puts the "zoom" in superzoom. Its 42x lens has a staggering 1000mm telephoto focal range.

Pros:
- Massive optical zoom
- advanced specification
- good image quality
Cons:
- Build quality not the best
- tiltable LCD screen could be better

Nikon Coolpix P510
Superficially, the Nikon Coolpix P510 appears to be similar to several ultra-zooms, yet underneath it hold a good number of refinements. Of course, its ultra long 1000mm reach is headline-grabbing but what makes the P510 really compelling is its highly effective image stabilization, its improved...
