After a lot of deliberation between several makes and models I decided on the P310 because of its size, quality and HD video capabities (60FPS 720p).The camera proved to be a great little snappy with great quality filming but I quickly noticed the view screen sratching up and then dust particles
Pros:
- Great Features
- Great Picture Quality
- Lightweight
- Simple Controls
Cons:
- Prone to dirt and dust
- USB charge only

Nikon Coolpix P310
The Nikon Coolpix P310 is a fair bit cheaper than some similar cameras such as the Canon Powershot S100 . It lacks a couple of features compared to that camera such as GPS and a RAW mode. If those are not important to you then this camera becomes a lot more attractive.
Pros:
- Features
- compact size
- colours when flash is used
Cons:
- Picture quality not as good as other cameras in this category
- no RAW mode

Nikon Coolpix P310
The Nikon Coolpix P310 is the company's latest take on its high-end compact camera. Like the P300 that came before it, the P310's biggest sell is its 24-100mm f/1.8-4.9 lens. But unlike the burgeoning competition the P310 doesn't have a larger-than-average sensor size.
Pros:
- Decent AF with lots of options including user-defined point
- detailed images
- close-up macro mode
- lots of movie capture control
Cons:
- No raw capture
- standard compact sensor size
- image quality behind the larger-sensor competition

Nikon Coolpix P310 review
The Nikon Coolpix P310 is a camera without peer at its price. It's a premium compact camera priced more like your average point-and-shoot, with a fast F1.8 lens, manual exposure controls, very good image quality, and a pocket-size body.

Nikon P310, Mostly good with some flaws
In many ways great, good looking, portable, f1.8 (good low light capability), 24mm wide angle. Only marred by less than good video quality especially in low light with glitches.
