Fine camera, clumsy, hard-to-use manual on a CD
With my Nikon S600, I took its small, compact manual with me whenever I traveled. Even with my D5000 I can take the manual with me. Now this option does not exist. I will have to carry about lots of pages that I have printed.

Nikon COOLPIX P310
In the meat of Nikon's COOLPIX P310 sits a 16MP CMOS sensor and 4.2x optical zoom. The zoom itself covers a 35mm equivalent focal range of 24-100mm, although the main draw is really its fast maximum aperture.
Pros:
- Good LCD screen
- Pleasing design
- PASM control
Cons:
- Lack of Raw capture
- Metering and white balance issues

The P310 has an ISO of up to 3200 and a lens that offers the same fast maximum aperture of f/1.8. Pros:
- Pocket-size
- high quality camera
Cons:
- The P310 definitely looks a lot like Canon’s S100
- it’s clear that Nikon is trying its damnedest to focus attention away from Canon

Am very disappointed in the Nikon P310's HD Video capabilities, and its only a average still-image picture taker as well. I'm going to return it today for a refund or credit. The 1080p and 720p HD video clips of moving objects like cars and trains jitter during playback, and sometimes a lot.
