Good CMOS censor but bad software. Wrong picture lighting
I brought this from Flipkart and very instant delivery. The camera has amazing COMS sensor quality and almost no red noise. But the problem lies in Software. Nikon as you know is very backward in software algorithms compared to sony.

Nikon Coolpix AW100
The Nikon Coolpix AW100 is up against some stiff competition. It does a decent job, has a good range of features and can handle plenty of different photo opportunities. It may not possess a knock out blow that marks it out as clearly better than its rivals, but it is good enough to make your...

- Bright pictures

- shutter lag
Cons:
- The Coolpix AW100 has no major faults

Nikon Coolpix AW100 Review: Coolpix Gets Tough
For those leading an adventurous life wishing to record it using a camera that can keep up as well as hold up, the Nikon Coolpix AW100 is a fine choice. What it is lacking in the noise-to-signal department, in somewhat flat colors and battery retention it makes up for with convenience, ease-of-use,...
Pros:
- Fun and useful motion controls
- Rugged and waterproof
- Good image stabilization
Cons:

Nikon Coolpix AW100
Overall, the Nikon AW100 worked well enough, but I really did have a tough time with the buttons. They're just too hard to press. I took a lot of shots with EV set inadvertently to underexpose (a whole outing, in fact, which has never happened before -- and before goes back to 1998).
Pros:
- Appealing design
- Waterproof
- shockproof and freezeproof
- Large
- textured shutter button
- Very little geometric distortion
- Close macro shooting
- Accurate viewfinder
- Fairly high resolution
- Fast startup time
- Full-autofocus shutter lag is fast
- Good shot-to-shot cycle time
- Good autofocus in low
Cons:
- Buttons are hard to press
- Lens has soft corners that extend fairly far in toward center
- both wide and telephoto
- Lower contrast at telephoto (not unusual
- though
- Lens is a little dim (starts at f/3.9
- Moderate chromatic aberration in some shots
- Flash overwhelms in close quarters
- Tricky menu

When my Nikon Coolpix L22 started to get old, with a broken battery cover, over 5000 images taken and a scratch on the lens, I started to look at my options for replacing it. I mountain bike a lot and like something I can have on my shoulder and can grab quick to capture a cool shot of a cool move...
Pros:
- Maybe its what I was used to before (Coolpix L22) but it's such an improvement in image quality over the last camera I owned .It can survive a 4-5 foot drop onto concrete or slick-rock
- I'm a klutz and this camera is great for me.
Cons:
- The battery life isn't the best when using the flash or zoom a lot
- That may be an issue for some of the longer rides i have planned this summer, Image stabilization and auto focus are slow when zoomed.., Grainy images at higher ISO

Looks like new. I did have to plug the battery in the charger a couple of times to get it to start charging (could be why it was returned), but it works fine now.

The Nikon Coolpix AW100 is the first camera in the new Coolpix All Weather line. It's a rugged compact that's waterproof down to 10 metres for up to one hour, shockproof to a drop of 1.5 metres and freeze-proof for temperatures as low as -10C.

Nikon Coolpix AW100 Review
When one thinks of rugged cameras, either Olympus or Panasonic are among the brands that one thinks of instantly. These brands have been launching tough, shockproof cameras for years and though a tad on the pricier side, they are extremely efficient and perform in the way they are intended to.

Nikon's ruggedised, 'all weather' AW100 camera is lots of fun to use no matter the weather or your environment.
