For testing, we used two laptops that have built-in wireless-N and both are installed with IXIA QCheck. IXIA QCheck is a network troubleshooting tool that can check network response time, throughput, traceroute and streaming performance.

NETGEAR WNR1000v2 wireless router for home
It's not been long since we last reviewed an ASUS RT-N10U wireless router which isn't in the company top among wireless routers. Today we decided to have a look at the NETGEAR WNR1000v2 model that has no external antenna and no USB port.

Great Product / Easy Set Up
I have only been using this for a couple days now but so far, so good. I didn't have any issues setting it up, so they could probably train monkeys (i.e. you shouldn't have any issues-it's incredibly easy to set up). It's small, works great, and the cost can't be beat. Very Happy with this purchase!

Unreliable, quit in less than a year
I am forced to BUY a second unit after nine months, way before for one-year guarantee. Netgear does not support its product. Why and I buying another one? Because it is the only router that works with MAC. Otheriwse, I would never do business with Netgear.
Cons:
- Unreliable

Great for Wireless Internet - C r a p p y for Internal Networking / Filesharing
Tech support is a joke! The first 2 reps I talked to didnt understand the number 12!!!!!!! Did you say 4? W T F!?! Really... Tech #3.. Well, after 1.5hrs (mostly on hold), "take the router back to the store for a replacement"! Sorry, we cant RMA the device! W T F, really?!?
Pros:
- It allowed me to restore my internet connection after my previous router died.
Cons:
- Killed internal traffic on my network (20kps max throughput - to slow to even do a firmware update)
- I can unplug this device and my internal traffic returns back to normal speed..

Useless product - DO NOT BUY!
This modem/router is useless. It drops out time and time again. It's not the computer and it's not the phone. Disconnecting the phone made no difference to me. With this rubbish you'll be frustrated with everything you want to do.

I'm returning it.
During setup it says I need an Ethernet adapter. This is a new wireless laptop. If in fact a wireless adapter is needed it should have been included or a proviso stating that one was needed should have been posted.
Pros:
- Small
Cons:
- Not Complete

Excellent Product
I have purchased and used this wireless router for my apartment. It is vey easy to install, reasonable price and gives out good signals. I purchased a wireless router from another manufacturer a couple of years ago when I did not know a thing routers; thus, I simply used an Ethernet to connect with...

Sufficient router with the durability and convenience
I thought that the wireless router is sufficient for a small one bedroom apartment or a studio because the range seems to be only about 50 to 75 feet or less. I have two laptops and desktop connected to the wireless router at home.
