No way to use hi-gain antenna

The antennas are not detachable so I had to use a different extender. Without a hi-gain antenna the connection dropped constantly. Another problem - this unit is designed to plug into an outlet and the signal may not be strong enough there.

Simply Great

Just plug it in and turn it on. Set up is fairly easy - you just need to get the extender and the modem to connect, set up a SSID and password for the extender, and you're in business. It provides a strong stable connection. Too easy!

The Netgear 3000 extender did not work

the Netgear 3000 extender did not noticeably improve our wifi range. We had houseguest from Italy and San Diego who wanted to use wifi in the back bedrooms. The base wifi unit was in the front of the house, with the kitchen and its metal appliances in between.

It's a massive pain in the neck to set up and since upgrading to the Netgear N600, it doesn't even work at all. Avoid.

Useless!

My experience with this product wasn't what I was expecting. My wireless network is running all NetGear equipment and runs really well, but I had a minor dead spot that I needed to resolve. This sold itself as the perfect solution. It wasn't, it in fact gave me a worse signal than the router alone.
Pros:
  • Nothing
Cons:
  • Everything

The Netgear Universal WN3000RP is the second of the Wi-Fi boosters manufactured by Netgear. This particular device is much smaller than the WN2000RPT and plugs into a wall outlet to power-up.
Pros:
  • This Wi-Fi booster has an optimal coverage option to show where the unit should be placed for the best connection possible
Cons:
  • Phone support only lasts 90 days from product purchase date
