Netgear's R6300 supports 802.11ac and is a great all-round wireless router for the home
At the enthusiast end of the wireless networking market there is a router that can perform faster than practically every other consumer wireless router on the Australian market. It's the Netgear R6300 and it supports the latest (though yet to be ratified) wireless standard: 802.11ac.- Super-fast Wi-Fi
- Good USB sharing performance
- Very reliable performer
- Needs 802.11ac adapters to work best
- Hardware design a little awkward
- Parental filters not the easiest to set up
Lightning Speeds!
i have this router at home and it is GREAT. you are probably thinking its very expensive but for the fastest wireless and gigabyte internet on the market it is worth it.
Better Coverage & Faster Speeds
Although the price was higher than I wanted to spend, I bought this router because I had weak coverage with my old N+ router. That is no longer a problem and my desktop computer which is wired, is also getting better speeds.- Better coverage

Netgear R6300 router review: The second-fastest router we've tested
Many of my favorite routers over the past three years have borne the Netgear brand. The company's first 802.11ac model, the R6300, is an excellent...- A very fast 802.11ac router

Netgear R6300
The R6300 is quite a beast of a router, and it certainly gives a promise of things to come. While we score it highly, we'd hold off on purchasing anything 802.11ac until client chips are more widespread - by then, there'll likely be something even better around.- Incredible performance
- Supports 2.4GHz
- 5GHz n and ac simultaneously
- Gigabit WAN
- Can set up via mobile devices
- Huge and bulky
- Although they should be along soon
- no 802.11ac wireless adapters are available yet to take advantage of it
- Mobile app needs a lot of finessing
- Netgear's router UI still needs work

The pipe just got wider
I was in the market to upgrade my router so I decided to bite the bullet and get the latest and greatest. So far, it has not disappointed. Doing the same speed test on Speakeasy from my local area, my download speed with a Netgear wireless N adapter WN111 v2 went from around 12-15 mbps on the old...
As the first router of a new generation, the Netgear R6300 can definitely be called a success. Granted, 1.3 gbps is still quite a way away, but there are clear performance gains compared to 802.11n.

Netgear's R6300 WiFi Router 802.11ac Dual Band Gigabit ($199.99) introduces Netgear's 11ac offering to the market.
