The DumaOS brings the XR500 into line with the operating system flexibility that you’d expect from a Synology NAS. This OS is focused on effective network management rather than providing network services, though. We’d like it to be cheaper, but that is so true of many of the most desirable devices.

I am TPG NBN (FTTC) and having this router about for 4 months. Pros: Very stable & solid WiFi performance in overall. Disk writing speed impressive. Hits 600Mbps over USB 3.0. nearly double speed than my ex ASUS RT-AC88U. Cons: Can be used only as router ! Internet setup wizard does not detect internet connection when the router is connected to FTTC NBN connection box VIA Ethernet port. You have to manually setup internet connection by VLAN tagging, but here is another issue. When the router successfully have Internet connection by enabling VLAN tagging(VLAN ID 2, Priority 0 for TPG), NAS & WiFi network printer lose connection. Need a firmware update to fix the issue.

First week owning router so far so awesome. Installation was very easy just plug in and follow the easy steps and your connected. Love the gaming settings QoS making managing a house full of wifi products easy to control also the geo filtering works great. Net Duma OS is a added bonus which makings managing the router easy and professionally. I will definitely keep buying netgear products in the future! 10/10 guys

Good unit, easy to install. But it's the Nighthawk software that make it outstanding. Easy to use and very versatile

Makes my internet more enjoyable experience. Works well with Telstra NBN.
