Netgear Arlo Pro 2 Review: Top-Notch Camera

4.5
Verdict: Netgear's excellent Arlo security cameras continue to improve. The 1080p Arlo Pro 2 is a higher resolution version of the older 720p Arlo Pro. In addition, the Pro 2 can be used either as a wired or wireless camera (the original Pro was wireless only).
Pros: Simple installation, Clean, intelligent interface, Flexible and easy scheduling, Geofencing turns system on/off depending on phone's location, Very good daylight video quality, Free seven-day rolling cloud storage
Cons: Can login from only one device at a time, No auto-rotate of live or playback videos on mobile devices, Motion detection tools separate from setup section

Arlo Pro 2 review: Solid security for a price

4.0
Verdict: The Arlo Pro 2 is an expensive piece of kit, but it's hard to think of any missteps it makes along the way. The footage it captures is excellent, the motion and audio detection works well and it's pleasingly flexible.
Pros: Battery powered, Sharp, 1080p footage, Seven days free clip storage
Cons: Expensive

Arlo Pro 2 review: The best wireless camera still has some drawbacks

No reviews
Verdict: It's getting easier to set up your own internet-connected home surveillance system, but that usually still means running cables to power all your fancy HD cameras. Arlo, which recently spun off from Netgear, offers an alternative.
Pros: Wireless You can put Arlo cameras anyplace because they don't need to be plugged in, Higher resolution The upgraded 1080p sensor offers more detail than the older 720p version, Battery life You'll get several months of life from a single charge, Plan pricing The free tier of service is totally...
Cons: Nighttime video At night, the Arlo Pro 2 video is darker than I'd like. It can be hard to make out details more than a few feet away from the camera, Slow to wake up It takes 7-8 seconds for the camera to wake up and begin streaming live when operating on battery power, Clunky app The Arlo app...

NETGEAR Arlo Pro 2 (review)

3.6
Verdict: I use the term ‘successful' because NETGEAR is a master marketer. They have smick marketing material, lovely point-of-sale, copious positive blogs, and multiple nice websites. You buy because of the brand recognition – not because it is superior to other offerings.
Pros: • 1080p video and 720p stills are reasonable quality when you can achieve it
Cons: No compelling reason to buy it over other brands - except perhaps the brand

Netgear Arlo Pro 2

No reviews
Verdict: There's more to Netgear than routers and switches. The California-based outfit may be best known for producing business-grade networking hardware, but it has used that experience to create Arlo, a relatively new name that is well positioned to become a mainstay in the smart home of today and...
Pros: Very easy to setup and use, Wireless 1080p cameras, Free seven-day storage plan, Good choice of accessories, Two-way audio
Cons: Premium price tag, Some features limited to wired, Reliability remains a question mark

Arlo Pro 2 Review

No reviews
Verdict: We were big fans of the original Arlo Pro. There were really only a couple things that we thought could be improved and the Arlo Pro 2 does just that. In our opinion, the Arlo Pro 2 is the best wireless security camera system you can get. Here's what to expect:
Pros: Wireless cameras that can be used indoors or outdoors, Crisp 1080p video quality, 7 days of video storage for free, Built-in siren to deter potential burglars, Long battery life
Cons: Expensive, Geofencing is not perfect, Two-way audio is average at best, Activity Zones and Look Back features only available if plugged-in

Netgear Arlo Pro 2 VMS4230P

4.6
Verdict: While Arlo Pro 2 isn't revolutionary, it does upgrade perhaps the best wire-free security camera solution to 1080p, making some already good, even better.

Cons: App interface a little convoluted

Netgear Arlo Pro 2 review

4.0
Verdict: With the massive growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), sales of devices to secure the home have become increasingly popular. Companies like Google-owned Nest and now Amazon-owned Blink are battling it out to produce smaller and easier-to-use cameras that can be placed around your property without...
Pros: Strong magnetic mounts for waterproof cameras, Web interface offers high levels of control, Free cloud recordings for up to 7 days, Built-in siren
Cons: Base station difficult to set up with some routers, Cameras need to be charged using lead and plug provided, Quite an expensive set up compared to other brands

Works well with NBN

5.0
Verdict: Got this after NBN connection. Going completely wireless with this system is great for DIY installation. A little expensive, but setup easy. Plug base into router and power, link cameras and place on walls - using iPhone app for settings and library. Basic free cloud storage for a week.

Big Brother with Arlo

4.0
Verdict: The wireless cameras linked quickly and were very easy to install due to the magnetic way they connect to their mounts. 7 Day recording via Arlo cloud is free for up to 5 cameras and helps keep track of the recordings made. Very poor night vision (would give 0 stars for that)

1.0
Verdict: Arlo Pro 2: Returned mine. Very poor night vision (would give 0 stars for that). Online support service gave "copy-paste" answer, even when I had given them the firmware and hardware version of the camera, they asked it again in their return email.

Works as advertised

2.0
Verdict: Really simple to set up and install. Feels like a good quality build. Provides a better video feed with a wider angle than expected. Only criticism is the app is a little confusing to fine tune your preferences and security options. Had to play around till I figured it out.

Netgear Arlo Pro 2 VMS4230P

3.0
Verdict: Arlo is the first security camera I have ever used. It exceeded my expectation. It was easy to activate using home Wi-Fi and get 3 cameras working. I have been using the system for 4 months and it detected every human and pet movement within the detection area.

Netgear Arlo Pro 2 VMS4230P

4.0
Pros: The flexibility of the system is awesome. Wifi makes installation very easy. I have a camera at front door, back yard and one in the house. I can randomly move the house cam to cover different areas with ease.
Cons: Took a very long time to get the camera's to sync to the base station. Search help forum and tried multiple suggestions and eventually found that turning off all Wifi devices in the house allowed the camera to sync. Camera's are far too easy to steal given their magnetic mount.
