Navman product information says monthly free map updates. Note that does not mean 12 map updates ( 1 x per month) automatically per year. Navman say maps provided by a third party and Navman rely on them for any updates. For NZ Maps no updates since late 2021.

I purchased this unit specifically as we tow a van and wanted the large vehicle assist feature. Unfortunately the unit will not allow a towed height setting greater than 2.7m and our van is 3.4m. Also the SUV setting has a height limit of 1.99m and our vehicle is 2.3m It was easy to set up, but never made it in to the vehicle due to the limited settings. Navman said a software update would fix the issue, but after two updates it had the same height limits. Navman offered a full refund and the unit was returned.

Screen is easier to use after dark compared to my old 600 series. Disappointed that I am unable to to upgrade maps via my PC.

Navman explore 7 works well with a variety of settings choices however lacks an altimeter. The screen display contrast needs improvement and the white print on a grey background directions are difficult to read at a glance. When not navigating, no street traveling on is displayed.

GPS fails, touchscreen becomes unresponsive, software is unintuitive and slow which combined with the poor touchscreen makes using it an exercise in futility. Dashcam only records in 1080p 30fps instead of 60 like even the cheapest dashcams from ebay. 499 is an absolute ripoff for this device, you will spend less money on getting both a purpose built dashcam and separate GPS from a company that knows what they're doing like Tomtom. I've had budget phones from over 5 years ago that perform a better job with GPS navigation. Avoid like the plague.

Great product, a bit more difficult than it should be to set up and the way it acts as a Bluetooth speaker is a bit odd. Maps and dashcam functionality are perfect though.
