Playing Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite reminded me of a scene from Star Trek I saw as a child. It involved Kirk and Spock playing an intense game of chess , but on seven boards of varying sizes, all floating over each other.

The Infinity Stones allow for more creative strategies and styles; New tag system places more emphasis on skill over automation; Mechanics are deep and complex but casual players are accommodated; Story mode is fun and engaging throughout

Inconsistent character models; Overall presentation is lacking in personality and flair

Speed and skill are a given in the modern NHL, but those traits alone don't anoint Stanley Cup champions. Beating the best in the world takes more than tape-to-tape passes and wicked slappers.

Hockey is the best of all major American sports. I think this, but I might be in the minority. Baseball is America's game, the NFL is America's most popular sport, and basketball has the most recognizable stars. But hockey is my favourite.

I don't understand why the same developer as FIFA can't get a game right. Be a Pro hasn't been updated in 2 years, HUT is just to make more money and the gameplay is so slow. Quit skating by on the bare minimum and release a good game. And no one cares about NHL Threes!

It is time to head back to the Ice with the annual NHL franchise that EA Sports can release without any competition. Does the lack of competition cause the franchise to continue on its decline or has NHL 18 picked up the slack over NHL 17?

Commentators and the pre-game presentation elements need to be refreshing

We've been playing NHL games regularly ever since the first NHL game was released for PC back in 1994, and it's fair to say that the franchise has taken up quite a lot of our time. We would happily admit that the annual release of this hockey game is a highlight for us.

I am happy with this game. Kids also.

As a relatively long standing fan of the NHL series, I was among those disappointed with EA's decision to strip away a lot of key features way back at NHL 15. Of course, with that said I too celebrated the return of the series the following year and have enjoyed watching EA elevate the franchise...
