I never give any video game 5 stars. There is no truly perfect game out there...especially with sports games. Technically, I'd give this a 4.5 star rating. The half star deduction is the requirement for Playstation Plus to play part of the game. I also hate in-game purchases.

Last year, thanks to a flashy trailer and new promises, NBA 2K18 was again hyped by 2K Sports as the most complete game in its award-winning series. Instead, fans received a disappointing user experience that became stale after only a few months of the game's existence.

I'm going to pay 2K to build a player Maybe $5 for 100 level stats but you can dump $100s into this game and still not be anywhere close. You can't transfer your built up player to the next year release so just don't hand them money.

I bought it for my adult son, he had it on his wish list. He loves the game, the graphics are so realistic.

My review will focus mostly on MyCareer and MyGM modes since I played those the most. I have owned a lot of NBA 2k games before this one (2k1, 2k3, 2k5, 2k7, 2k9, 2k11, 2k12, 2k14, 2k16, 2k17) and have been generally happy with the product, though some years have certainly been better than others.

The funnest thing for a dream chaser is the 2k19 MyCareer. As far as the gameplay and graphics it's awesome. The MyCareer cutscenes on the other hand are way to long and it's really bugging my time to play it.

The music is ok but I would like to be able to have a wider selection of music as some is not my taste and annoying. I usually don't pay much attention to the music and tend to turn it down.
