Hit and miss (sort of)

First things first, it is genuinely nice to see an almost new type of game, far away from FPS, Driving and Sports games that seem to dominate this and the last generation. The story is pretty good, as you play Ronan O'Connor, a man who has been brutally murdered.

Murdered: Soul Suspect Review

An excellent premise, let down slightly by some out of place game mechanics.

Murdered: Soul Suspect

If Murdered: Soul Suspect had been released in, say, 2004, gamers might be speaking about it in quiet, fond tones, reminiscing about how it broke new ground for console adventure games and presented the kind of story you didn't see often enough in those days.

Murdered: Soul Suspect Review

Murdered: Soul Suspect has the distinction of being the first next-gen game to have a dead protagonist (and also having the worst title this gen to date). Ronan is a detective, fedora and all, who has been caught up in a dastardly plot in Salem, Massachusetts and is murdered at the outset of the...

+ Ghostly gameplay a bit novel + Salem is a good setting

- Gameplay best described as "adventure-light" - Very short - Story tries but just can't establish itself

Lackluster

I purchased this game based on a couple of clips I watched on You Tube. It seemed like it would be a pretty good RPG with a decent story at the time.

Decent Story

Gameplay Lacking

Murdered: Soul Suspect Review

The adventure game has arguably died. With a couple of recent exceptions such as L.A. Noire and Broken Age , the genre has been left in the dust by bigger, more instantly gratifying shooters and platformers.

I LIKED this game (8.5). One of the big reasons is that it was something NEW!! (A welcomed breath of new originality and not just another sequel of sequel of sequel...). I thought the story was interesting, especially when you find out just why Ronan was killed (not a spoiler as that is what the...

Best detective story ever!

This game has one of the best stories, so far this year, and it's the best detective story ever. It's like film noir and a supernatural horror film combined. It might not have enough action for everyone, you don't go around shooting people, sometimes you take out a demon, but mostly you are ghost...

Murdered: Soul suspect review – Unchained Malady

There's nothing like a good murder mystery - and Murdered: Soul Suspect is nothing like a good murder mystery. It's a decent enough tale, punctuated by half-baked sleuthing, underused supernatural powers and forced stealth.
