Motorola Moto G8 review

There’s a lot to be said for a phone that does the job. The G8 looks decent, has enough power to get you through a full day without stutters, and packs a seriously respectable camera for the price. Is the G8 perfect? No. At night, its camera crumbles, like most phones in its price range, and it also misses out on NFC. What’s more, for £10 more, you could pick up the battery-tastic Realme 6i. That said, if you want a reliable experience, a stock interface, and a great value for money smartphone, you won’t be disappointed by Motorola’s latest G.

Great bang for buck; Decent value camera; Clean interface;

No NFC; Plastic build; 720p display;

Moto G8 review

The Moto G8 might look like rivals and be cheaper than its predecessor but there are various downgrades here that don't make much sense. Unless the long battery life and stock Android are enough to tempt you, there are better rivals out there for the same price or not much more.

Motorola Moto G8 Smartphone Review – $200 Smartphone with Versatile Camera

Mid-range staple. Motorola's Moto G series has been a staple of reliable mid-range smartphones for many years. The Moto G8 is more affordable than its predecessor and, for the first time, features a zoom lens. Sounds like a good deal, right?

The Motorola Moto G8 is a decent mid-range smartphone for small budgets. It offers a more convention...

wide-angle and macro camera; decent battery life; above average performance; dedicated fingerprint reader; stays cool;

GPS accuracy not particularly great; only 720p resolution; uneven brightness distribution; some photos lack contrast;

Great value

This model was recommended as an upgrade from a Moto G2 that had been used for about 6 years. The new phone is physically longer and slightly thinner. Finding a suitable phone case is difficult as very few local shops carry cases for Motorola phones. Battery life is typically two days. The finger scanner is a great security feature. Have only used it for about a month. A lot of the functions are similar to the G2, and Android 10 is certainly an improvement on Android 6. There are a lot of enhancements to customise the setup of the phone. Would recommend it as a great medium priced cellphone.

Surprisingly good phone

I have been using Samsung phones for the past and thought of giving Moto G8 a try for a change and for the great price (as a backup phone), and it was a big pleasant surprise. Everything works as it should be, and even the said-to-be low resolution screen is not that bad too, the naked eyes just can't tell it is low resolution ! Speed and battery life is impressive too. All in all I will recommend this phone to those who want a quality phone at an affordable price.

A great value for money

A great value for money phone. Mostly satisfied except for occasional freeze, which could be an android issue, because I had that on my old Nokia 7 plus too... But in general, Moto phones seem to last longer (my Moto G2 still works well today as a second phone) and have good reception even when other phone's don't have reception.

Solid phone with good reception

We bought this to replace a G6 that was becoming increasing painful to use due to poor reception. This model is great so far, has good reception around the hills and in rural areas, GPS is accurate, has a decent screen ... excellent value for money.
