Good things come to those who wait, or so the saying goes, and Microsoft has finally brought its premium Windows 8 device – the Surface Pro – to Australia. It's been available in the US since February, but Microsoft's 10.6in tablet looks to have been worth waiting for.

For me and for the broad audience, Microsoft is a software company . And I think it's fair to say that besides a few hardware products, they don't have too much experience in this field.

The Surface Pro comes in two configurations, one with 64GB of storage and the other with 128GB. It features an Intel Core i5 processor and a beautiful 10.6" full-HD, multi-touch screen capable of generating resolutions up to 1920x1080.

I first laid eyes on Microsoft's ( MSFT ) Surface tablet just about four months ago . It was a rainy Monday morning in Redmond, Washington and we were barely into the first 20 minutes of a full day of meetings when I knew the Surface was a huge, huge deal.

The Surface Pro is an interesting hybrid of a tablet and laptop. Unlike its little sibling (Surface RT), which is considered more of a tablet, the Surface Pro has more affinity to the ultrabook.

The Surface Pro is out and our complete review is ready. Like it or not, the Surface Pro is one of the most anticipated tablet of this first quarter of 2013 and it's easy to understand why: it is the reference tablet that is supposed to prove that a full Windows 8 Pro tablet is functional and viable...

There's no word on the pricing of the Surface Pro, but you can be sure that it will be expensive – the Windows RT powered Surface is the budget, consumer model, while the Surface Pro will be aimed at professionals and business users.
