For better or worse, noise-canceling headphones are all the rage. They use opposing sound waves to counteract external noise like jet engines. And now Marshall has a wireless headphone that features the technology: The Marshall Mid ANC ($269, £239 or around $AU350).
The Marshall Mid ANC is a sturdily built on-ear noise-canceling wireless headphone that delivers strong sound and good battery life in a compact design; the noise-canceling is decent; a nice carry case is included
Not as comfortable as full-size wireless noise-canceling competitors from Bose and Sony; should cost a little less
The Marshall Mid ANC headphones get just about everything right, from excellent Bluetooth audio performance to respectable noise cancellation. When you throw in a cable with a remote, a nice travel case, and a comfortable design, you have a winner.
Bass-boosted, crisp audio; Solid noise cancellation; Marshall amp-inspired design is thoughtfully executed with attention to detail; Comfortable fit; Solid array of accessories; Excellent on-ear controls
Marshall amp look isn't for everyone; Audio is very sculpted and not for purists
As a guitar player, I've been aware of the quality of Marshall products for most of my life. The fact that they are not just a guitar amp company, but they also make speakers and headphones is great. I recently received the $199 Marshall Mid Bluetooth headphones to review.
Attractive design with absolutely fantastic audio quality no matter the music genre
For the price; I would like to see a case or carry bag included
Venerable music company Marshall has been offering an extensive lineup of pretty good headphones for the past couple of years, but one thing that has been conspicuously missing from the company's offerings compared to many competitors is Active Noise Cancellation.…
With the Marshall Mid ANC, the company kept everything we liked about the Mid Wireless and added active noise cancellation ... as you probably could have guessed from its name. But with the addition of active noise cancellation, the Mid ANC command a $70 (£70) premium over the Mid Wireless, which is...
Retro styling; Punchy; warm sound; Great battery life
Lacks detail; ANC switch; Uncomfortable
Marshall's Mid ANC takes what made the 2017 model instantly recommendable, but adds active noise-cancelling to create a surprisingly capable pair of on-ear headphones. What's more, they'll cost you so much less than competing on/over-ears from other more well-known brands.
Rugged design; Classy retro guitar-inspired looks; Punchy and full sound
No aptX HD support (just aptX; Headband adjustment could be easier; Not much in the way of customisation; Battery life doesn't live up to promise
The Marshall MID ANC are wireless headphones with active noise cancellation, making them a good fit for trains, buses and planes. Like the original Marshall MID, they nail the Marshall design flavour. Many rockers and Motorhead T-shirt-wearing pretenders will love the look.
Real Marshall flavour; Good combo of passive and active sound-blocking; Good battery life
Not quite the best sound at the price; ANC isn't close to Bose level
Simple rock-styling, good controls, excellent battery life and great sound, make these relatively compact on-ear wireless headphones worth a listen
great sound; long battery life; good controls; good connectivity; share your music via cable; optional cable listening; simple but not boring styling; solid construction
pinch a bit; lack a bit of balance for classical music; no NFC for one-touch pairing
Love these! Having spent 2 weeks researching which headphones to get, I was not disappointed with my selection. Very comfortable. I was initially cautious about music leaking from headphones since I travel on the tube, but its amazing and there is no sound leakage.
