The Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 is a light and relatively compact tripod designed for general-purpose use. It's based on the best-selling 190XPROB, but built from carbon fiber to minimise weight – indeed it's the lightest tripod in Manfrotto's X range.

We were a little sceptical when the Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 tripod arrived for testing. Weighing less than 1.3kg (without a head) it seemed alarmingly light – would it really hold a camera steady in a stiff breeze?
I got this one, because it's one of only a few on the market that have right locks (I hate Gitzo type locks that most carbon tripods have). The center column that goes vertical is very sturdy and convenient. Works great with Kirk BH-3 or any Markins ballheads.
100% Carbon fiber+magnesium; very sturdy; central column goes vertical in seconds; integrated leveling spirit bubble
pricey; no leg warmers; load capacity limited to 11lbs
I am very happy with the Manfrotto carbon fiber legs so far. I have a great ball head I wanted to re-use and I'm glad there was no ball head included with this purchase. It would have ended up in a drawer.
I've just used it on a photo outing trip in Chicago and this tripod got me a lot of beautiful pictures. Panoramas were done easily with the 804RC2 head, and this tripod was light enough to be taken with me throughout the day taking street shots all around Chicago.
Folds Small; Good Stability; Lightweight; Unfolds Quickly
I purchased the Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 Tripod on August 28, 2009. On November 26, 2009, one of the legs broke. I called Bogen Imaging the following week and was told the repair would be covered by my warranty. I was also told my tripod would be repaired and returned to me quickly.
This is my first tripod, bought after much deliberation. I opted for carbon fibre because of the lower weight, even though it cost a bit more than aluminium. I'm really glad I chose it, it's so far been very stable, it's easy to adjust, and I can carry it around all day without any problems
Compact; Easily Adjusted; Good Footing; Locks In Tight

Lightweight; Unfolds Quickly
Weak Construction; Broke Within 3 Months; Very Slow Repair Service
I really like the horizontal bar for macrophotography. It can unfold in so many different ways... great for macrophotography. I wish the horizontal bar would fold at different angles. Slightly heavy when you ad a tripod head.
