Wow, this is a monster. It's very heavy (you won't go trekking with this baby), slow to setup and needs a large car boot. That said, I wouldn't be without it. Rock steady, so high on full extension that I need a decorating ladder to see through the viewfinder!

Very sturdy but slow to open.

I bought this because after 9 years my previous Manfrotto tripod broke where the upper and lower legs join. I needed something sturdier. This tripod is definitely set up for heavy duty support. My only complaint is, I have to open and close the legs every day in my studio.

Manfrotto's finest is on display in this tripod. If you have truly SERIOUS photography desires, this tripod will support anything you care to mount on it, and support it in the very most stable fashion. Is it expensive Yes, but still a great bargain when compared to the $1000+ Gitzos. Is it heavy

SUPER tall!, Overly stable, fantastic build quality and truly smooth operation; NEVER a quiver out of it

Heavy at 17 pounds without a head; but this is NOT made for hobbiests

The Ultimate in Stability

This is a very well made piece of kit. The built quality is much higher than the general Manfrotto stuff that you buy and will last easily years of professional abuse. The tripod is the sturdiest that I have ever tried and this is partially due to its weight which makes it bolt on the floor.

Heavy

I've always wanted a tripod, both sturdy and tall enough, capable of allowing me to shoot from (an) elevated vantage point(s). In the past, I've needed to rely on stacks of apple boxes to reach certain heights.
