Logitech Z523 Review

We never expected speakers this cheap-okay, inexpensive-to sound this good.

Excellent sound; Great bass output; Inputs for three stereo sources; Attractive; Strong price/performance ratio

Hard-wired cables; Harsh highs nearing full volume; Plastic satellite cabinets; Won't fill a large room

Logitech Speaker System Z523

SLIDESHOW (7) Slideshow | All Shots Harnessing the power of deep bass, without spoiling the sound with distortion has always been one of Logitech's strengths-in its more expensive speaker sets, that is.

Logitech speaker system Z523 review

The Logitech Z523 is a nicely designed 2.1 PC speaker system. The build quality of the speaker is not top notch but just above average. The system has a claimed frequency response of 35Hz to 20KHz.

Logitech Speaker System Z523 review Review

The Speaker System Z523 is a good option if you're after a reasonably affordable PC-speaker set with a subwoofer. Pricier speakers offer more detailed audio, but the Z523's sound quality is decent enough, offering plenty of bass.

Good sound quality for the money; Strong bass performance; Plenty of connectivity options; Handy volume and bass controls

Audio could be more detailed and clear

Logitech Z523 review

Good looking set of 2.1 PC speaker with multiple inputs and nice design but the Logitech Z523's mediocre sound does not justify its price tag.

Logitech Speaker System Z523 review

Most speakers sound best when you're directly in front of them. This is fine when you're gaming or listening to music, but less ideal when you have guests. Logitech's Z523 2.1 speakers have two speakers in each satellite - one facing forward and one back - to project sound round the room.

Logitech Speaker System Z523

When it released its new line in 2009, Logitech went away from the modern, squarish design of its USB-powered Z5 omnidirectional speakers and shifted to a more traditional PC speaker design.

Good sound for the money; Strong bass; Good connectivity options; Volume and bass controls

You wouldn't call it snazzy; Doesn't offer all that much in the way of acoustic detail

Logitech Z523 2.1 speakers review

This review might carry an overly pessimistic tone which belies the worth of this system. Any of the above issues aren't uncommon in this price bracket, and there are far worse 2.1 systems available for the same money.

Muddy sound and buzzing

If you're going to go for a Logitech speaker system spend the extra money for the Z623. I've had them before and they sound great. I had them for about 3 or 4 years before the cable started losing connection to it's circuit board.

The mid was strong and the very low end was nice; Controls were simple and clean; Knobs felt smooth and accurate

The highs and everything inbetween the low and high was muddy sounding except for the direct center of the hertz range; There was also a loud buzzing sound when no sound was being played; Hertz range of 90-120 was too punchy; Clarity quickly fell off at 600hz and higher and stayed at a poor level.

Solid Equiptment

Solid equiptment with nice sound the only reason i didnt give it a 5 star is because i got it to connect to a blue ray player but there was no way to connect it. that was a little disappointing as it was my initial purpose for getting them as the product description made it seem that you could.
