Logitech G430 7.1 Gaming Headset Review
We use all of our senses when it comes to gaming and the overall experience is a combination of what we feel. Certainly, the sense of hearing cannot be set aside in gaming. After all, it is fun to hear the explosions and all the action in a game.
Logitech G430 Surround Sound Gaming Headset
Everything that's included in the retail package. A view of the Logitech G430 earcups. The Logitech G430's in-line controls and 3.5mm connectors. The G430's USB adapter. In addition to the Dolby sound test that comes with the Logitech software, I also tested the G430 while playing Bioshock: Infinite...- Excellent surround sound
- Comfortable over-the-ear design
- Adjustable microphone
- Funky color scheme
- Easy-to-use in-line controls
- USB adapter
- Required installation of Logitech's software for surround sound
- It would be fantastic if the microphone muted when folded up
Logitech G430 Surround Sound Gaming Headset Review
Logitech's new release of the next line of headphones is out and they were gracious enough to send us a pair. Wrapped in a revealing box, the Logitech G430 Surround Sound Gaming Headset looks good in person and on paper. But looks aren't everything. Let us tell you about our experience.- Installation
- Logitech Gaming Software
- Audio Quality
- Comfort and Weight
- Tightness
Audio to USB is absolutely terrible!
When I plug in the audio to USB, it constantly disconnects and for some reason doesn't allow me to use my microphone. This may be because of the lack of support for Linux, but audio is the main issue I'm talking about here. When you plug in the audio jacks, the headset works fine.
Logitech G430
Logitech did a great job with the G430's. They stuck with what worked on their G35 and G930 headsets as far as shape and audio performance while making the headset something that more people could afford.
A good set of gaming headphones should be able to answer three questions in the affirmative: are they comfortable to wear for hours at a time, does their sound quality make your games better and will they last for years?
Broken drivers and so-so sound quality..
Windows 7 (x64) Drivers from Logitech are broken. If you get lucky, they will work. If you don't, then you just paid extra for 7.1 sound card that doesn't work. The headphones without 7.1 sound good but are minor upgrade in quality than cheaper Microsoft LX-3000.
Logitech G430 7.1 channel headphones
Logitech has managed to impress us of late with both their G500S gaming mouse (review) and G19S gaming keyboard (review) . How does its 7.1 channel gaming headset, the G430, fare? To start with these are certainly headphones that you will not misplace in a hurry, being both quite large, with a fair...- Terrific surround sound reproduction
- Retractable and bendable mic
- Well cushioned earphones and headband
- Comfortable to wear
- Earphones and mic levels can be finetuned to your liking
- Earpiece cushioning a bit stiff
- All plastic build
