Little Friends: Dogs and Cats Review | A ruff Nintendogs clone

You can personalize your pet by way of giving them new clothes, ranging from oversized hats through to polka dot skirts, and unlike real animals, they won't mind if you strap a pair of sunglasses to their head for comic relief.

Very simple to pick up and play for younger gamers

Dull mini-games; Limited interactions with your pets; Cats are an afterthought; There are four in-game currencies for no particular reason; Tags

Little Friends Dogs & Cats

Long time readers know we have talked about never knowing what is coming our way next. Maybe it is a gaming exercise bike, a massage chair, an electronic desk, or the collectors edition of a game. Maybe it is a cool new advertisement, donation, or sponsorship.

Little Friends: Dogs & Cats Review

When reminiscing about the good old days of the Nintendo DS, it's almost impossible not to fondly recall one of its most loveable games: Nintendogs. Its real time pet simulation gifted players with their own furry companion from the comfort of a handheld and stirred up such a positive reception that...

Lovely and cute visuals; Reminiscent of Nintendogs; but establishes its own identity; Customisation is enjoyable; Nice selection of renowned breeds; Lovely and cute visuals; Reminiscent of Nintendogs; but establishes its own identity; Customisation is enjoyable; Nice selection of renowned breeds

Serious give and take between docked and handheld controls; Needing to recalibrate Joy-Con frequently; Dog walks swiftly become stale and boring; Cats have less engaging mini-games; Little replayability

Little Friends: Dogs & Cats Switch review - "Woof around the edges"

Nintendogs was a landmark game for Nintendo's DS. It was a gentle, lovely game which surprised everyone and still holds up to this day. Little Friends: Dogs & Cats is not Nintendogs. It's not even close.

Little Friends: Dogs & Cats Review – A Bit of a Dog's Breakfast

If you've always longed for a dog or cat of your very own to cuddle, play with and dress up, now you can in convenient handheld form with Little Friends: Dogs & Cats from Imagineer and Sold Out Games.

Uber-adorable pets; Pets are visually realistic; Fun at first

Gets repetitive and boring; Not enough content; Visuals other than pets are basic

Portable paw patrol - Little Friends: Dogs & Cats review

Whether it be Tamagotchi or canine sidekicks, pet simulators are always a fun way to chill out. While they do end up having a dearth of activities to do after a while, they're still fun for short play sessions (even if I feel like I'm neglecting my virtual pets).

Fun; cute animals that are charming and adorable; Unique control schemes for taking care of pets; Nice customization with clothing and furniture

Cats and their activities are basically nonexistent; Many elements sacrifice depth for streamlined gameplay; Diminishing returns means you can really only enjoy in short bursts

"Nearly exactly like the original, nearly"

My friend loves this game, it really fulfills a sense of nostalgia and fills a void within their soul that needs to be filled with cute stuff. Strangely the bath feature is seemingly gone and a couple of other small details aren't there either, nothing that takes away from the fun of the game or...
