Life Is Strange: Episode 1 review – this action will have?consequences

A wonderfully assured first episode, in what has the potential to outdo both Telltale Games and Quantic Dream in terms of successful video game storytelling.

Excellent use of visuals, sound, and gameplay to create a very distinctive and admirably restrained atmosphere; Well drawn characters and interesting time control gimmick

The script shows signs of a slightly fumbled translation and some will no doubt be put off by the fact that very little happens in the first episode; and that even less is explained

Life is Strange review

It doesn't matter that the lip synching is off when the voice acting is mostly excellent. It doesn't matter that a mostly French, mostly male development team doesn't always get the intricacies and complexities of female friendship (although they do a remarkable job, all things considered), when the...

Choice don't count

Very good game with nice story. But eventually whatever choice you make throughout the game doesn't affect the end like how heavy rain or beyond two souls does. Even so its a very nice game and at that price it totally worths

Life is Strange

Episodic video games are certainly quite the rage right now, no small thanks to Telltale Games and their extremely popular series. Life is Strange is developer DONTNOD's foray into the format, and Square Enix helped them bring their project to fruition.

Beautiful art style; rewinding ability really innovative for a point-and-click adventure; and appears to have a very deep and dark story for the series

Some of the puzzles feel forced and it implements the angsty teenager in high school cliche; one that is quite overdone in media

Life is Strange Episode One: Chrysalis PS4 Review

There are many TV shows I ended up watching start to finish even though I did not fall in love from Episode One. Let's take something like Fringe for example. That show went almost half way through its first season before finding its feet – then some loose ends got tied together, and the show...

Life is Strange Episode 1 Chrysalis Review

Life Is Strange: Chrysalis is the first installment in a soon to be five-part episodic series. The game is a complex narrative driven, graphic adventure. It focuses on the consequences of the tiny actions in our lives and how they have a butterfly effect on the world around us.

Artwork; Storyline; Believable characters; Intriguing story

Too Short; Little Gameplay; Sparse action; Bad dialogue

Life is Strange Episode 1 Review

If you think your life is strange you should probably check out the life of Maxine Caulfield, the protagonist of Life is Strange, as it is guaranteed to make your lot seem much more mundane. Returning

Great rewind mechanic; Believable interaction between Max and Chloe; Story has real potential

A few too many characters; Not a thrilling introduction; Struggles to truly hook you in
