Lenovo ThinkPad X270 (Core i5, Full HD) Laptop Review

This is the fourth time Lenovo has reused the same case. As always with ThinkPads, the great input devices, as well as the PowerBridge feature – which basically has not real competitors - are definite pros.

comfortable ThinkPad input devices; compact and nice to handle; flexible battery usage thanks to PowerBridge; high number of ports for a compact laptop

some weaknesses in manufacturing; device heats up under load; cooling fan runs too frequently; darker display than that of predecessor; low color space coverage; difficult maintenance; disappointing battery life

The latest incarnation of Lenovo's venerable X200 ultraportable series is a sturdy, three-pound productivity partner that's pricey, but the machine to beat in the 12.5-inch segment.

Legendary build quality; Long-lived; swappable batteries; Grade A display and keyboard

Expensive; Three pounds instead of two; USB-C but no Thunderbolt 3 port

Lenovo ThinkPad X270 Review

From its extremely responsive keyboard to its accurate touchpad, long battery life and relatively colorful screen, the ThinkPad X270 has a lot going for it. But perhaps the best thing about this laptop is that it lives in the Goldilocks zone of laptop size: It's just large enough to provide an...

Lenovo ThinkPad X270 review: A compact, powerful business laptop

When it comes to hauling your business laptop back and forth to work, smaller is always better. And even though you would like a small laptop, you also need it to perform like a powerhouse. Can the Lenovo ThinkPad X270 laptop live up to these expectations?

Neat little machine!

To start, I had to return it because it had bad "coil whine", however I have not heard of this happening to other x270's so your mileage may vary. I loved it while I had it, though. It was a very nice and clean little machine. It's solid as a rock and has an amazing keyboard.

The business-class Lenovo ThinkPad X-series has long been known for its small size, strong build quality, excellent keyboard, and long battery life. The 12.5-inch ThinkPad X270 is the latest notebook in this lineup, and also the smallest.

Incredible battery life (with extended 6-cell; Swappable components; and snap-in docking support; Excellent keyboard; Beautiful 1080p display

Pricey as tested; Thicker than average

Lenovo ThinkPad X270

When fully outfitted like our test unit, the X270 is a reliable workhorse for business use, small enough to take with you and packed with enough security features to give you peace of mind. It's expensive as configured, though, and a bit too bulky to feel like a lightweight ultraportable.

Insane 24-hour battery life with hot swap system; Powerful processor and 16GB of RAM; Plenty of ports and useful extras; Multiple security features

Expensive as configured; Bulky for an ultraportable
