The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is an excellent machine for a specific type of use case. It's designed to be a workhorse, to do what you need it to do when you need to do it. It's clearly more of a rugged design than other ThinkPads, and it offers a different feature set.

Last year I reviewed the ThinkPad T470 and came away impressed with what was on offer. Here was a laptop with a hot-swappable battery, lots of ports, a great keyboard, and the needed performance to get through a day's work.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a well-balanced laptop, but only if you are buying it for your business needs. The ThinkPad series is a go-to laptop choice for many businesses since it provides everything including the power and balance to make it an efficient business machine.

A few weeks ago my Acer Chromebook for Work would not power on (I suspect a motherboard issue). In a bind, I researched for about three hours and decided to order a Lenovo T-480. I've been using my T-480 for the past two weeks and like the ruggedness, keyboard, fingerprint scan, and dual batteries.

I bought this computer 6 weeks ago and have been very satisfied with its performance. The 8th Gen. Intel Core i7 processor is amazing. The SSD provides excellent speed. Its 1080p screen has outstanding clarity. Computer set-up went well no issues.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon retains our Editors' Choice for its lighter weight, 17-hour runtime, available HDR screen, and arguably even better keyboard. But execs tend to keep that premium-priced status symbol to themselves. For mainstream office deployment, the ThinkPad T480 is as good as it gets.
