Encre Noire is a beautiful, original and very dark perfume. Now that I have had the opportunity to try it, thanks to a partner, I fully understand those allusions to the dark, macabre, gothic and phantasmagoric side of the perfume, it is not a joke, it is there, and that decadent and decrepit vibe...

vetiver and iso-e-super. screw the cashmere woods they list in the notes. it's peppery cedar-y iso-e-super all the way. that may give you a headache. it gives me one, sometimes. the vetiver isn't clean, fresh, or light like guerlain's. it's dark, smoky, heavy, funky, body-odor-ish.

Totally unisex. Would be my signature scent if I believed in such things. As it is, will ignore scores of other fragrances I have, to wear this one. Looking forward to it's refreshing soothing quality in the heat. Already know it has enough depth for cooler months.
