LG Prada 3.0

If the devil wears Prada, what does that make this new phone? The LG Prada 3.0 is in many respects a standard high-end Android LG smartphone plastered with the fashion house's logo. This is no bad thing, though.

Slim; attractive design; Good display; Neat custom UI; Good performance; You pay ~£100 for the Prada bits

Specs say it's 9 months late; Low-res screen

The fashion phone returns: LG's Prada reviewed

LG has once again collaborated with design icon Prada to ask the question: can phones really be a fashion item?

One of the few phones to be officially licensed by a major fashion brand; Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology included; Covered charge port

Outdated version of Android (2.3; Only LG's icons match the monochromatic skin; making the Android overlay look unfinished; Could do with more internal storage space; Battery lucky to last a day

LG Prada Phone 3.0 review

The original Prada Phone, LG would have us believe, was the inspiration for the iPhone. Just four months after LG won the iF Design award for its groundbreaking design, Steve Jobs took to the stage at Macworld and turned the entire industry on its head.

Looks gorgeous; Great call quality; Decent battery life; Fluid performance

Low-resolution display; Inconsistent UI; Design / build quality issues; Stock browser is painfully bad

Prada Phone by LG 3.0 Review

The Prada Phone by LG has certainly got a unique look about it with a textured back cover that gives it the feel of fancy notebook or a posh leather-bound cigarette case. Personally we did not like this design and for the money you pay (something like £342), its spec seems under-whelming compared to...

LG Prada 3.0 review: LG Prada 3.0

For a smartphone brearing the Prada title, the Prada 3.0 is a pretty unassuming device in the hand. Cut from the same cloth as so many monoblocks before it, the Prada 3.0 is a glossy-black touchscreen smartphone, almost indistinguishable from other LGs, Samsungs or even the iPhone from a distance. This is less true when you look at it from behind, where LG uses the signature Prada "Saffiano" texture across the plastic battery cover, which looks nice but feels rough to touch. Though it would have pushed the price up, we think a softer feeling with, maybe, leather would have sold the idea of luxury better.

The Prada 3.0 is unlikely to appeal to the fashion-conscious with its cheap, plastic build and is equally unlikely to speak to the tech savvy with its middling specs and performance.

Slick monochrome UI design; Good everyday performance; Decent camera; NFC.

Cheap, plastic body; No 850MHz network support; Bright screen punishes the battery.

LG Prada 3.0

The Prada 3.0 is a big leap forward in LG's partnership with the world-renowned fashion brand, but a sideways step for the LG portfolio, overall. It may be the first true Prada smartphone, and features like NFC are most certainly welcome, but it is otherwise a run-of-the-mill smartphone by all other...

LG Prada 3.0

You don't slap "Prada" on any slab of phone, darling, so while this one is no slouch, it's got its work cut out.

LG Prada 3.0 review

The original Prada phone, which came out in December 2006, was the first mobile with a capacitive touchscreen, and was a huge hit for LG. It wasn't a smartphone, though, and neither was its successor, the keyboard-equipped Prada II.
