REVIEW: PRADA Phone by LG 3.0 (LG P940)

It may be aimed more at fashionistas than hardcore tech fans, but LG's latest Prada phone ticks many of the boxes that even the most demanding of gadget fans chase. It's built well, looks great and is comfortably slim in the pocket. Its UI, though inconsistent, is unique and stylish.

The Prada Phone by LG 3.0 is nicely designed, well built, looks good and has a host of useful features

Best touchscreen from LG; elegant design and style; responsive virtual keyboard; top HD video camera

Very average stills camera; poor battery life

LG Prada 3.0

Is it going to be third time for lucky for LG in its partnership with Prada?  The LG Prada 3.0 is a new Android 2.3 smartphone that's billed as a combination of a full feature list with...

General look and feel with decent build quality; Responsive software; Good quality photos from the camera

Screen has limited resolution; Won't get Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich soon; Poor quality audio

LG Prada 3.0

If the devil wears Prada, what does that make this new phone? The LG Prada 3.0 is in many respects a standard high-end Android LG smartphone plastered with the fashion house's logo. This is no bad thing, though.

Slim; attractive design; Good display; Neat custom UI; Good performance; You pay ~£100 for the Prada bits

Specs say it's 9 months late; Low-res screen

LG Prada Phone 3.0 review

Now everyone's got an iPhone or an Android handset, showing off with your phone is harder than ever. One way is to get one that has a fashion house logo stamped on the back of it. Boom!

LG Prada 3.0 review

It's a good package and we like some of LG's user interface tweaks, particularly its stylish widgets, but it feels very, very strange moving from B&W Home screens to colour apps. Get Android 4.0 on here and lose the novelty theme and we'd like it more, although it would lose some of its quirky charm...

LG and Prada's collaboration started in 2006, with the second handset arriving in 2009. 2012 sees the launch of the third in the trio: the LG Prada 3.0. At first glance it looks like 'another' black handset, but discreet Prada-inspired touches make it stand out from crowd.

Excellent screen; Attractive design and menu; Fast processor

LG P940 Prada 3.0 smartphone review

The LG P940 Prada 3.0 is a stylish Android smartphone, but it's overpriced for what it delivers, not least when it comes to the underwhelming battery life. The mere promise of an Android 4 upgrade at some point isn't particularly compelling either, so there's little here to make this smartphone...

The upshot is a handset which feels and looks good, and whose innards appear to have been well thought out. We rather like it, though it is a slightly pricey choice.

LG Prada 3.0

The Prada 3.0 is a big leap forward in LG's partnership with the world-renowned fashion brand, but a sideways step for the LG portfolio, overall. It may be the first true Prada smartphone, and features like NFC are most certainly welcome, but it is otherwise a run-of-the-mill smartphone by all other...

Slick monochrome UI design; Good everyday performance; Decent camera; NFC

Cheap; plastic body; No 850MHz network support; Bright screen punishes the battery
