LG Optimus L7 mobile phone review

Shipping with the LG Optimus L7 is a 1,700mAH battery, while the other two phones in the L range use a 1,500mAh one. I ran down the L7's battery using a heavy usage regime where I set up two Gmail accounts (one personal and the other a Google apps version) that pulled in over 100 emails.
Pros:
  • Screen
  • Build quality
  • Price
Cons:
  • Slow processor
  • Low amount of ram and internal storage
  • Limited features for a top end phone

LG Optimus L7

What you can expect in a phone under AU$300 is a line that is shifting all the time. The LG L7 is a good example of a fully featured prepaid model, with a good basis in Android and some useful customisation from LG. The hardware and build quality could be better, though.
Pros:
  • Runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Decent camera for the price
  • Quick Memo is an excellent LG feature
Cons:
  • 1GHz processor makes for slow and choppy performance
  • Cheap-feeling chassis design

First announced back in March at Mobile World Congress ( MWC ) as the standout device from LG's new L-Style of "lifestyle" handsets (which also includes the LG Optimus L3 ), the LG Optimus L7 won't be heading to the Android top-table to do battle with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X
Pros:
  • Slick design
  • Decent camera
  • Latest Android version
Cons:
  • Poor performance
  • Terrible battery life
  • Low storage

We covered the introduction LG's L-series of phones in our review of their Optimus L5, so there's not much to add here. The Optimus L7 finds itself being the middle child of the L-series of smartphones, with the L9 being the bigger sibling in this series of phones.

I bought the l7 as a work mobile. There are good and bad things about this mobile. On the good side it has a nice screen that's plenty good enough for the job. NFC is a bonus. Its very slim and stylish in a Samsung s2/ prada 3.0 sort of way.
