LG is traditionally known for pre-paid smartphones in Australia and the . Retailing for under $300, the Optimus L7 is a well designed Android phone with a nice display but it is ultimately let down by mediocre, sluggish performance. The LG Optimus L7 may be cheap but it certainly doesn't look so.
Pros:
- Attractive looking design
- Good screen
- Reasonable battery life
Cons:
- Sluggish and slow performance
- No ambient light sensor
- Poor speaker placement

The trickiest part of testing out the LG Optimus L7 was figuring out how to get the back off - there's no easy fingernail gap aside from the microUSB port, so that's what I used. It uses a full-sized sim - unusual for a phone this large.

LG Optimus L7 review: a beautiful, entry-level Android 4.0 smartphone with LG's new UI 3.0
As much as we wanted to like the Optimus L7, we must strongly urge those who want an entry-level smartphone to look elsewhere. It's quite a shame, really, because LG's design efforts hinted at something so much greater.
