LG Optimus 4X HD review Review

The LG Optimus 4X HD is a phone for hardcore gadget junkies who demand top-drawer specs and don't mind paying a serious wack of cash to get them. They will also have to be happy carrying spare batteries to keep the 4X juiced up, as its quad-core chip takes a toll on battery life.
Pros:
  • High-resolution screen
  • Ships with the latest version of Android
Cons:
  • Poor battery life
  • Camera has trouble staying focused

Review: LG Optimus 4X HD

At 4.7", the 4X HD's Gorilla Glass covered screen matches the size of the HTC One X's panel, and is around 3 mm smaller than that of the GS3. The IPS LCD has pixel dimensions of 720x1280, taking its pixel density to around 312 ppi.
Pros:
  • Impressive performance
  • Great looks
  • Excellent video player
Cons:
  • Uncomfortable for single-handed use
  • Lacklustre camera
  • Average sound quality

Value for the dollar invested

This is a good good smartphone at the current pricepoint. Basic functions are good. However fails in some departments like skype video call. My take is that the phone gets heated when high processing power is expected. The phone needs a jelly bean 4.1.2 update.
Pros:
  • heating

LG traditionally hasn't fared well in the top-end smartphone market, with most of its popular models sitting in the low-to-mid range. The Optimus 4X HD, however, is the first LG smartphone that effectively competes with the best Android phones on the market.
Pros:
  • Good build quality
  • Impressive UI skin
  • Excellent performance
Cons:
  • Below average battery life
  • Poor video recording performance
  • Awkwardly positioned speaker
