LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, the latest in the long running LEGO franchise from Traveler's Tales, may be their best effort to date. It seems they are intent on improving each time out (if only we were so lucky with other series!

Like its predecessors, Lego Marvel has surface flaws - but it's so generous with its content, so clearly head-over-heels in love with the characters and world it's inherited from the comic page and cinema screen, and so reliably, reassuringly designed from the ground up to both enchant and inspire...

Lego Marvel Super Heroes is, for the most part, plastic proof that familiarity works - providing a game still has the love and imagination to retain the excitement and fun of its core mechanics. Said familiarity works both ways, of course.

There are two ways to look at LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. One is context – here is a game that lets you stomp around as Doc Ock, take Spiderman to Asgard, tear through the skies in Tony Stark's private jet, take The Thing skydiving from the S.H.I.E.L.D.

This game is so much fun. So many characters to choose from. I think they couldve chosen better characters than H.E.R.B.I.E and Liberty, but maybe they want to save some characters for a sequel. Fun for children and adults.

With past LEGO crossover games such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Batman, not only have I been patiently waiting, but almost at the edge of my seat for a Marvel Universe crossover. Alas, my waiting has come to an end.

? Has it really been well over two decades since I spent a lot of time playing with LEGOs? Well, the answer to part one is yes, yes it has while the truth is I play with LEGOs a lot these days, even if they technically belong to my kids.

Bought this for my 4 year old son and he loves it. Great selection of characters and the gameplay keeps kids interested.
