If you are in the market for a new flash drive, there are three metrics you tend to focus on. The first being performance, followed closely by capacity and of course warranty. For the longest time Kingston's HyperX brand has been the pinnacle of performance, and as their portfolio grows, the...

Kingston DataTraveler HyperX Predator 512GB Review

USB sticks, thumb drives, pen drives, call them what you will their usefulness cannot be overstated. In these times when most of us have at the least a computer and a console, but far more likely we have a couple of computers, a laptop, maybe one or two consoles, a TV with USB in etc.

Defective

I bought this online. It came (with a broken indicator light) and did not work. I would show up and be greyed out. I tried to return it to a store near me, and the 'Agent' confirmed that it was not working, and when he couldn't figure out how to refund me my money, told me i had to call BBY and...

Kingston HyperX Predator 512GB review: biggest USB stick in the world

Recently we published a huge group test of 32 USB 3.0 sticks with capacities of 32 GB and 64 GB. If that doesn't float your boat, you could always get a USB storage device with no less than 512 GB, called the HyperX Predator.

Best drive I ever purchased

This is solid quality, the speed performance is outstanding even tho I wouldn't expect any less from Kingston. I am very impressed with this. Needless to say Tigerdirect shipping was prompt, with as usual, necessary measures to ensure package safety. I am absolutely satisfied with this purchase.

Stop working

This was a terrific USB drive until it stops working. Now it's just a piece of rubber with useless electronics inside.

Fast; High Capacity; Portable

Unreliable

Kingston DataTraveler HyperX USB 3.0 64 GB

The Kingston DataTraveler HyperX is one of the fastest flash drives from the memory manufacturer. It advertises speeds of more than 200 MB/s write and 100 MB/s read. Too good to be true? We take a close look to find out.

Incredible read performance; Awesome write performance; Great USB 2.0 performance; Sturdy shell; Hook to chain for key ring; Bright; blue activity LED; Lifetime warranty; Available with up to 256 GB; Excellent price in the EU

For some reason expensive in the US; Gets pretty warm when moving loads of data; Bulky size compared to other drives

Kingston DataTraveler HyperX Predator 512GB Review

Almost everyone reading this review is likely to have a small USB 2.0 flash drive at home or work. They can be used for transferring files between machines, flashing the BIOS of a motherboard and for offline mirroring of sensitive data.
