Kingston DataTraveler 200

Traveling with loads of your most important files and data is possible thanks to today's USB-based flash drives. The DataTraveler 200 is one of Kingston's latest models and our test sample packs 64GB of storage capacity. Is it worth buying?

Tech on the Go Meets the Kingston DataTraveler-200

Storage is one thing you can never really have enough of; even at the upper edge of ridiculous if you have the room you will find a way to fill it. But while we have loads of devices that allow us to expand our internal and static external storage there is very little out in truly portable storage.

Pros

Kingston USB 3.0 Media Reader Review

The amount of USB 3.0 products in the market has been increased rapidly due to its greater speed; ~10x faster than USB 2.0 in theoretically. However most of the USB 3.0 products are only designed for USB flash drives not for other devices like card reader.

+ USB 3.0 technology; + Multiple flash memory cards are supported; + SDXC is supported; + Awesome Kingston logo to show its activities; + Slim & light weight

- Could be cheaper

Kingston's Card Reader has Micro memory card slots! This means you don't need a converting enclosure, eventually slowing down your card performance. CR works in a USB2 port as well, without really any difference in speed.

REVIEW: Kingston DataTraveler 200 (128GB)

In spite of the security issues, the DT200 is a very good drive that could be put to a wide range of uses. It's not the fastest or most individually styled but it's practical and functional. Having said that, I'd have liked some auto-backup software included in the bundle.

Good quality

This USB 3.0 reader feels really nice, and seems like a really good quality product - unlike some previous card readers I have had. The logo lights up in red when you plug it into the pc, and flashes when it is accessing the cards.

Very fast... very functional.

I was looking for a fast card reader that could handle compact flash (CF) cards... this one does, as well as SD, microSD and more. The Kingston red light activates on top when plugged in, and it performs perfectly! Great product, great purchase.

Love that it's USB 3.0

I have to save tons of images and video footage. This allows me a little faster speeds which saves me time. I wish the price would drop, but maybe it will the next time my memory card reader goes bad.

USB 3.0

still pricey
