With its managed software, the Kingston DataTraveler 4000 Managed is one of the more affordable FIPS 140-2 certified secure USB flash drives on the market.

This is also a BIG flash drive.

Arrived quickly; Once I got past the lack of a comfortable amount of documentation regarding the security side of this flashdrive, I just started loading up the pre-planned secure docs; Speed was fine.

For someone with less experience or knowledge; there may be a need for better documentation on making use of the level of security available on this drive (security being the reason for the purchase of this drive)

It disconnects when my computer's monitor goes to sleep, so that I have to quit the application, disconnect the USB and reconnect it again. But other than that it works great!

The Data Traveler 4000-M is part of a new breed of secure USB drives that are not only FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) certified, but can also be managed remotely by a system administrator within the organization that deploys them.

This USB works great on all OS's that I've tried. The only knock against it is that the linux interface requires root access to mount the encrypted partition.
