Exactly as I was expecting

SSD was easy to set up & use and has greatly improved Dell laptop performance. User is very happy. I also bought the notepad bundle which includes the Acronis cloning software to make the job much easier.

Great SSD bad Upgrade Kit

The SSD is fast and (so far) reliable. The CD provided with the upgrade kit did not contain the software needed to clone the old hard drive I was replacing, consequently I had to do a clean install of Windows.

Bought 1 of these in kit form just to hold ...

Bought 1 of these in kit form just to hold steam and some games on. Installed and recognised without any hiccups,has 223GB usable from the box. Considering buying a standalone to use as an external and to make use of the spare case i now have.

perfect upgrade

replaced the old hhd in my laptop and this works amazing. I didn't use the cloning software on the cd because who knows if it's out of date or what not. I just downloaded a free version and BAM was done within 4 hours (gotta realize cloning a drive will take forever no matter what software or ssd...

Kingston V300 240GB

Another in the list of SandForce SSDs is the latest from Kingston, the SSDNow V300. It's not entirely different in most regards, but it does have Toshiba Toggle NAND and exclusive input from LSI directly to tweak the controller's performance.
Pros:
  • Faster speeds than specification
  • robust accessory package
  • competitive price
  • customized controller by LSI
Cons:
  • SandForce 2281 struggles with incompressible data
  • not fastest SSD on the market
