It sometimes costs less than better performing drives.
Cons:
- When first released and reviewed by the industry Kingston used synchronous NAND when building the V300's
- In later revisions they transitioned to using cheaper asynchronous NAND which has resulted in severely degraded performance and did nothing to make customers aware of the change

Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SATA 3.0 SSD
Lastly, with the initial create task in Compile Bench the performance out of the KINGSTON SV300S3 120GB on Ubuntu with the Linux 3.13 kernel was on par with the OCZ Vertex 3 SSD. At the end of the day there isn't anything special about the Kingston SSDNow V300's performance.

Good
Really easy to install in a desktop, it comes with all the necessary hardware to do so. Didn't use to clone my existing disk just to dual boot Linux and Windows and it does the job perfectly. There are fastest SSD in the market nowadays but for the price is worth it.

My best upgrade in a while
A solid state drive is probably the best upgrade you can add to your system should you still have a HDD. As you might expect, Windows loads in a fraction of the time, but apps open more quickly, big applications that need to page the drive perform better, etc. Across the board excellent boost.

You may have the impression that solid state drives on LSI SF-2281 controller have already been studied and tested inside out. However, Kingston managed to come up with a product that turned out genuinely surprising in the most positive way.
