Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB

I've really enjoyed my time with the Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB which has performed well and has put my current Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB to shame (but that's to be expected I guess as technology advances further and there are now no moving parts!).

The Good: Arrived quickly, especially for USPS delivery. Nicely packaged. Came with a very nice blue anodized aluminum adapter for installation in a standard 3.5" HDD bay. Feels very solid, also very sleek looking. Took Windows 7 64 like a champ. No errors of any kind yet.

The SSD market is changing rapidly for enthusiasts. Low prices for 120GB models and the introduction of RAID 0 TRIM for Intel Z77 based systems means it's now possible to spend roughly $200 and get 1000MB/s sequential read and write performance.

Kingston HyperX 3K 240 GB

Kingston's HyperX 3K SSD is positioned at a more affordable price level than its blue non-3K sibling. Our performance testing reveals surprising numbers: the drive actually ends up being faster than the regular HyperX.

High performance; Supports TRIM; 3 -year warranty; Nice accessories included (in the kit version; USB enclosure is of high quality

A bit more expensive than other options

Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD

The Kingston HyperX 3K SSD delivers impressive performance at an excellent price point. It's the fastest SATA 6Gbps SSD I've tested to date and I have no problem recommending it. The HyperX 3K is a very nice alternative to the original, more expensive HyperX with 5000 p/e cycles.

Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD Review

Kitguru says: A high value for money drive, ideal for a wide audience of enthusiast user. Less than £1 per GB, well done Kingston!

Great compressible data performance; bargain price; strong 4k random IOPS throughput; 3 year warranty with Kingston

suffers with incompressible data; stiff competition; Vertex 4 is only £20 more

Reliable and Fast

This is the 3rd one of these I've owned. I have one at work and have had it for about 2 years now. I have one in my laptop at home and this one is going in the wife's machine.I continue to buy the same brand and model because this drive has been very reliable and I worry about the hit and miss...

Easy To Install; Fast; Quiet; Reliable

I bought several V300 ssd but stopped since the chips were changed which made the write speeds cut in half. Now that the HyperX is the same price that I bought the V300 for and the write speeds are faster. I will keep buying these until they make changes for the worse.

The colour black; Sale price; Quality

Blue adapter
