Great SSD solution for main OS drive

The Kingston HyperX 3k 90gb solid state drive is a great drive to use for a dedicated operating system drive or for a dedicated gaming drive. i would suggest though that for a gaming drive a larger capacity would be needed as this one is pretty small in comparison to drives currently on the market.

Extremely fast data rates and load times

Kingston HyperX 3K 240 GB

Kingston's HyperX 3K SSD is positioned at a more affordable price level than its blue non-3K sibling. Our performance testing reveals surprising numbers: the drive actually ends up being faster than the regular HyperX.

High performance; Supports TRIM; 3 -year warranty; Nice accessories included (in the kit version; USB enclosure is of high quality

A bit more expensive than other options

quick upgrade for an old laptop

it won't turn a 7 year old laptop into a state-of-the-art Mac but close. Programs load much quicker. Greatly reduces power usage and fan hardly ever needs to run.

Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD

The Kingston HyperX 3K SSD delivers impressive performance at an excellent price point. It's the fastest SATA 6Gbps SSD I've tested to date and I have no problem recommending it. The HyperX 3K is a very nice alternative to the original, more expensive HyperX with 5000 p/e cycles.

Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB review

Kingston's HyperX branding is reserved for its top-end SSDs, but the new HyperX 3K range is designed to deliver similar levels of high-end performance at a cheaper price. The reason the drive is cheaper is because Kingston has fitted lower-specification NAND memory modules, which are rated at 3,000...
