I got one for Christmas and I'm very happy with the device. It does everything you want a digital book to do. I was wondering though if it would be worth getting a screen protector for one? Has anyone had any issues with the screen scratching?

- Can be slow if downloading a lot of items at once
Like books, buy one of these or a Nook Glolight, you won't regret it.
I read a lot of books and it can get quite costly when you get "into" a series and have to pay up to $25 or more for the next installment. My friend had one of these and advised that I simply had to get one with a backlight. He was right.
Amazon's new Paperwhite has been updated with a gloriously sharp screen, but the trade-off is reduced battery life compared with last year's model. It's still a great ereader and the crisp visuals make it ideal for comic book fans, but original owners have scant reason to upgrade.

- Great online store
Portable and long battery life. Slow response when scrolling down/up, opening books and zooming in/out, small memory space. Overall, good product and does what its supposed to do.

When I first bought the Kindle during my graduation years, I didn't eat for two days. I don't know why but looking at it would miraculously fill my stomach as I would hold it, feel it in my hands and eat it with my eyes –every part of it; that magical letters disappearing and reappearing to take...

A Can't Do Without Device
Yes the NEW Kindle Paperwhite is the best thing since sliced bread. This is a replacement, the battery in my original wouldn't charge after some 16 months, John Lewis changed it with no quibble. This new Kindle is superb, it, and it's predecessors have been part of my life for about 12 years.
Not clear if this is the 2012 or 2013 version
I will revisit once I receive the physical product. For now I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.
