If you were to ask me to suggest a pair that will please most people-no matter their musical tastes or how they intend to use them-I'd recommend Jaybird's X4 wireless sports earphones .

IPX7: can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes; Sound great under most circumstances; MySound companion app allows for EQ adjustment; Ship with Comply foam ear tips; 10-minute quick charge provides an hour of listening

Proprietary charging cable required; Audio becomes muddy at maximum volume; Audio call quality could be better

Jaybird X4 review: The newest iteration is better for a reason

The new standard.

Decent sound; IPX7 rating; Better fit than previous versions

Kind of uncomfortable; Mids are lacking in clarity; Battery life is good; but still falls just short of the claimed 8 hours

Jaybird X4

From an excellent in-ear fit and waterproof design to a user-friendly app that allows for a bass bonanza or a fairly accurate, flat sound signature, the Jaybird X4 earphones are a notable step forward in the series.

Powerful audio performance that is completely customizable using the app's EQ; Excellent in-ear fit; Waterproof

Short; proprietary charging cable

Jaybird X4 Wireless Sport Headphones review

REVIEW – I'm on a mission to find my next favorite pair of Bluetooth earbuds and so far I've been focusing entirely on truly wireless earbuds, but in reality, if I had to pick a pair of Bluetooth earbuds that sound the best and fit the best, the ones I'd pick are not completely wireless.

Good sound quality

Jaybird X4 review: Great earbuds without much new to offer

A confession: I gave up on my previous pair of Bluetooth earbuds, Jaybird's own X2, after about a year. It wasn't their fault; they sounded good, they were comfortable, and the battery lasted long enough.

Sound quality The X4 sound really good; There's surprising oomph to the bass, New fins The updated fin style is more flexible and easier to keep clean than previous versions, IP rating They're safe in up to a meter of water for as long as 30 minutes

Goofy proprietary charger I'm more bothered than most by single-purpose cables and adapters, but come on; The charging clip is even worse than the X3's, New cinch A single cinch for adjusting the wire between the earbuds is simpler, but it negatively impacts the fit compared to the double cinch...

Review: Jaybird's X4 sport headphones win on price-to-performance

The X4 is a further refinement of Jaybird's sport earbuds, and both a solid and cheaper alternative to Apple's Powerbeats3.

Jaybird is back to its old ways with the release of the Jaybird X4. These are some of the best-wired Bluetooth headphones on the market and should definitely be considered by anyone, but especially if you are a frequent gym-goer. The sound is great and the design is familiar, yet comfortable.

If you reside in an area bustling with athletic activity or you often visit the gym, you will realize one thing in common with the runners, weightlifters or strollers. They have headphones on.

Jaybird X4 Wireless Headphones

I don't leave reviews often, but these headphones are just so underwhelming. Bluetooth drops in and out. Sounds quality isn't that great (especially for $130). Battery life has dwindled after a few months of use. Just overall unsatisfied with these.

Over Priced, Under Performing

Out of the box I was very excited to receive these headphones. I purchased them with the express purpose of utilizing them in conjunction with my Peloton spin bike. It was difficult to get the Peloton to recognize and then sync with the headset at first; but once I crossed that hurdle everything...

Packaging -Aesthetics

-Sound quality is marginal -Depends on your use Syncing is poor -Jaybird Support is terrible -Charging cord is ridiculously short and the connection is troublesome -Control Location is right up against your head and difficult to reach / use
