Jabra Elite 65t review: the best AirPods alternative

The new $170 Jabra Elite 65t earbuds are my go-to recommendation for anyone who wants truly wireless earbuds that aren't Apple's AirPods. As good as the AirPods are , there are several things that might rule them out for some people.

Incredibly stable connection; Pleasant sound with good bass; Customizable fit; Two-year warranty against sweat / dust

Sometimes get uncomfortable during extended listening; No foam tips included; You'll need a recent phone for best performance; Possible QA issues with some units

Jabra Elite 65t

Jabra's first- and second-generation Elite Sport earphones were among the better totally wireless headphones on the market, but they proved to be no match for Apple's AirPods , which have dominated the category since their arrival in late 2016.

The Jabra Elite 65t are smaller and fit more comfortably than their predecessors; They sound excellent for truly wireless headphones, perform reliably and are great for making calls, with two microphones in each earpiece.

The relatively tight, noise-isolating fit isn't for everyone; You have to step up to the more expensive Elite Active 65t to get a true sports model that offers enhanced sweat-resistance

Jabra Elite 65t Review

Step aside, AirPods! Jabra's Elite 65t are the fully wireless headphones to beat.

Reliable connection; Great passive noise isolation; Punchy bass; bright highs; Advanced features; good battery life

Somewhat tight fit; Slight connection noise

The Elite 65t avoids the common pitfalls of true wireless earbuds with great sound and enough battery life to ensure you're not charging several times a day. If you've been looking to eliminate one of the last remaining cords in your life, this is definitely one of the best options.

Affordable price; Great audio quality; Quick and easy pairing; Low-profile design

Call quality suffers in noisy environments; Extended wear gets uncomfortable; On-board controls can be awkward

The Jabra Elite 65t is probably one of the best wireless earbuds I have used to date. Seriously, it's really that good, so much so it wins our Editor's Choice hands down. The build quality is solid. The earbuds are compact in size, light-weight, and offers IP55 dust and water resistance.

Compact; discrete and light-weight; 4-microphone system; Good audio quality for calls and music; Portable charging case; 5 hours continuous use / 15 hrs with charging case; Mobile app software allows equalizer controls

The Jabra Elite 65t is probably the best-looking set of truly wireless earphones I've tested. It sports gunmetal grey accents and a black semi-gloss body. The whole thing is plastic, but, unlike many earphones on the market, it doesn't feel cheap.

Great wireless earbuds

I have used quite a few wired and wireless headphones and earbuds over the years (as a Verizon employee), and have really been enjoying the Jabra Elite. They fit very well in my ears, and while not the smallest on the market, don't stick out overly far so you can wear them without them being noticed...
