EVERSPACE Review – Xbox One

As far as I can tell, there hasn't been a decent casual flight simulation experience during either this console generation, or the latter part of the PS3/Xbox 360 era. This has been personally disappointing, as I grew up playing the Rogue Squadron games and enjoyed more recent titles such as Blazing...

Positives + Good sense of progression + Fairly unique experience + Game world feels alive and interesting

Negatives; Environments get a little repetitive; Controls can be fiddly

Everspace: Roguelike Fun in a Dangerous Universe

When I first previewed Everspace last year, I went into the early-access build flying blind. The only thing I knew about the game was that it involved piloting a ship through space. Moments after firing it up for the first time, my foray into the great unknown ended in a catastrophic ball of fire.

Another element to the game I found trying were the unique, almost Descent-like controls because it took some getting used to. My mind had trouble getting around using the left bumper and trigger for throttle.

Everspace

Roguelike mechanics are taking over the galaxy, it would seem, and Everspace is the latest in a long line of games that takes inspiration from that classically archaic dungeon crawler of yesteryear, Rogue.

The best fighting game

This game is one of the best fighting games out there. There's enough content to keep you coming back, a load of fighters and then more with DLC which is fairly priced when it comes to most video game dlc.

You may already know if NetherRealm's brand of fighting is for you or not, and Injustice 2 plays a lot like the studio's previous work, so it's unlikely that it'll change your mind. The fights are fun and flashy, with nice depth for players willing to spend the time learning those nuances.

Such sweet sorrow

A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won't cause massive damage.

Injustice 2 review

Before you fight another player in Injustice 2 , the game tells you your win odds. It's a slightly disconcerting thing to be presented with just before getting stuck into yet another online ranking match. You have a four per cent chance of winning, the game often tells me. Well damn.
